Last day of School!

Can you all hear the Hallelujah Chorus?? Hey everyone! Nikki here today and yesterday was my son Avery’s  last day of First Grade. He goes to a private Christian school, so our summer vacations tend to be a little longer than those in the public schools. I know by about mid-June I will probably be counting down the days til school starts back but right now I’m rejoicing. Although Avery’s made very good grades this year, his ability to focus and stay on task  has caused us to have some ups and downs. I think it became much more of a problem once his Daddy deployed to Afghanistan in January. He has a hard time expressing his emotions and unfortunately it can come out in his behavior at school. But we made it! We’ve got some things going on this summer to hopefully help him with the problems we had this year and so I look forward to 2nd grade in the fall with lots of Hope and Optimism.

But right now it’s vacation time! We’ve got several things to look forward to this summer…Avery’s birthday is next week..my baby boy will be SEVEN! So he’s looking forward to his party. We’re heading out for a vacation in Panama City Beach mid-June with my sister and her kids and both of my parents. Then in July my husband will home for 2 whole weeks! To say I’m looking forward to that is an understatement! By then it will be 6 months since we saw him last. I can’t wait!

I’ll close with a couple of then and now shots of Avery..first and last day of First Grade. Wow he’s grown so much!
