4 in ’14 – Erica Zane
Another Featured Designer Friday is here Sweet Shoppers, and this week we’re bringing you part two of Erica Zane’s spotlight featuring her fun 4 in ’14 post which really shows off her personality! I have been loving the chance to get to know our designers a little better words and pictures and I hope you have been enjoying it too! I guess when I take selfies I feel the need to have company and sometimes my kids actually cooperate. So, this is me and these are my awesome kids…
1. Jacob is 9
2. Kaylee is 4
3. Amythest is 6
4. Joshua is 12
I was trying to pick my top 4 favorite kits, but I was having a hard time getting below my top 10, so these are in my top 10!
1. Chasing Fireflies – I just adore the colors in this kit! I had so much fun working with them that I ended up creating a coordinating kit (Sweet On You) because I wanted to add so much more to this already large kit.
2. Not Too Shabby – This kit started out as so many different things. I went through several theme ideas and color combos until I was about to move on. I probably could have made at least 4 kits out of my attempts but I wasn’t feeling it until I hit this combo. It’s light and pretty with a bit of shabby, it was totally worth the wait!
3. A Happy Family – Oh how I love fall! This kit makes me ready for the crisp fall days with the gorgeous changing leaves and all the fun family gatherings of the season. But not too ready, I still want some spring and summer!
4. One of the Boys – This is my favorite boy kit I’ve made so far. It has a lot of fun elements in it and I especially love the aqua.
Some other things I love…
1. My family of course. They are awesome and I love them to pieces!
2. The beach! I LOVE going with my family to the beach in the summer, it’s my favorite part of the year.
3. Going for family walks to explore all the pretty nature trails around here. This is especially fun in the spring and fall. There is a lot more whining in the summer and I’m too cold in the winter!
4. Sushi…mmmmm….sushi. I wish it was cheaper, I could eat it every day! My favorite at the moment are eel rolls, so tasty.
Ok, that sushi got me hungry and thinking of treats! Here are some of my faves…
1. Lemon squares. I love them so much. In fact, last time I made them, I may have eaten them all…yikes.
2. Marie Callender’s Razzleberry Pie. So, so tasty. Again, I could eat the whole thing…but my hubby actually likes this one, so I usually share.
3. Strawberry Shortcake. Homemade biscuits, strawberries and whipped cream….what’s not to love? It tastes like summer and I love it! In fact, when strawberries are in season, I will make pancakes or waffles for dinner and we’ll have strawberries and whipped cream on them…my kids think I’m awesome on those days!
4. Duck Donuts. There is a super fabulous little shop in North Carolina by the beach we go to called Duck Donuts and oh my word, they are so good. They make them fresh and top them while you watch. They are hot and delicious…I especially love the cinnamon sugar ones!
This was another one I couldn’t narrow down to favorites. We don’t have cable so I watch everything on Hulu or Amazon which is nice as I can watch whole seasons in days but I am always sad when I am all sucked in and then they just end. (I seriously have so many other favorites, such as Downton Abbey, Eureka, Firefly, Once Upon A Time, Revenge, the Voice, Parenthood, Face Off, Nashville, Warehouse 13, Almost Human and sooo many more!) Here are some that I currently love…
1. Doctor Who. LOVE, love, love! I remember watching the old school ones with my dad when I was little so thought I’d check out the new ones. I am waiting very impatiently for the second part of the last season to get on Amazon Prime…I hate waiting.
2. Merlin. I love it when I randomly stumble on a show I fall in love with! I love the interactions with Merlin & Arthur – so funny! I was so sad when I got to the last episode and then I was all annoyed about how they ended it.
3. Veronica Mars. My buddy went to go see the movie and I had never heard of it so I googled it and saw it was on Amazon Prime and immediately got hooked. I finished all the seasons way too soon…I really need to learn to pace myself!
4. Leverage. Another buddy told me about this one and I put off watching it because it didn’t sound like something I’d want to watch. But one day as my Hulu queue sat empty I watched a few episodes and yep, I got sucked in! My awesome neighbor had the DVDs and let me borrow the seasons I was missing.
I don’t always take as much time to scrap as I’d like to but here are some pages I’ve managed to get done.
