Thursday Treats 4/23 Earth Day

thursdaytreats-earthday

Yesterday, on April 22nd, we celebrated Earth Day. The first Earth Day was in 1970 in the United States, organized by Senator Gaylord Nelson. It is now celebrated in over 192 countries to promote taking better care of our planet.

From the Earth Day Network:

Why do we need an Earth Day? Because it works! Earth Day broadens the base of support for environmental programs, rekindles public commitment and builds community activism around the world through a broad range of events and activities. Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a billion people participate in their campaigns every year.

In my own circle of friends, I’m known as the recycling queen, often saying “Aren’t you going to recycle that?” when visiting others.

I looked through the store and gallery to find a few kits that could be used and some layouts celebrating our love of the Earth:

Guess what? There is going to be a brand new Earth Day kit in the store this weekend! Here’s a little sneak peek of it:
