Amber Shaw Remembrance from her CT – 5/30
This weekend we began to hear the news that we lost a very special member of our scrapbooking community. Here at The Shoppe, it has been difficult to both accept that Amber Shaw will no longer be able to encourage us with her kindness and positive attitude and inspire us with her designs, and also to know how to honor and remember her in a way that shows how much she is cherished here. Although it is hard, we know she would want us to remember her in the way she lived: as a bright light to many and with a willingness to be bold and take the next opportunity.
And so today on the blog, we begin to celebrate her as a person and as a designer.
One of the ways we would like to do this is to share with you some words from her creative team, as well as a favorite layout they made with her kits. Some of these ladies have worked with her for years, some are newer, but the common thread in all that has been said is that Amber was encouraging and kind to work with. From her team…
I’ve loved being on Amber’s team, writing kit descriptions, newsletters, and blog posts, for more than eight years (since she was Ruby Lane!). She created such beautiful designs and they kept getting better and better! She was a wonderful artist, a sincere believer, and a dear friend. Amber will be greatly missed.

Amber was such a sweet person. She was kind and she would take time to get to know the members of her creative team. I am really going to miss her.

Joining Amber’s CT was the beginning of a deep and wonderful friendship. She was encouraging, funny, creative, positive, kind, genuine, humble and the fastest typer I know. I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to know this beautiful woman.
Working with Amber was a dream come true. She was just the sweetest and made me feel welcome and part of her CT family immediately and her designs are so gorgeous which made it really easy to work with all of her kits. I will miss her dearly.

Amber’s design aesthetic was what drew me in, but once I got to know her, I discovered that in addition to being incredibly talented in SO many ways, she was a warm, compassionate, funny, sweet, and supportive lady (Not to mention she was gorgeous and had amazing taste in music!). Amber’s passing leaves an indescribable void in the digi-scrap community, but I’m just so thankful to have gotten the privilege to know and work with her for the short time that I did.

Amber always treated us as family. She talked and shared with us, many things beyond scrapbooking. I never met Amber in person but I feel that I knew her personally.

I was fairly new to Amber’s team, but she was so sweet and warmly welcomed me to her team. She was a dream to work with and her designs are as beautiful and easy to work with as she was, we have all lost an amazing gem!

Back in 2012 I met Amber online and I’ve always admired her strongfast committment and protection of her family. That year, Amber made this kit called Just Devan with inspiration from her daughter, who helped pick and add lots of pink and sparkles. It’s a wonderful mother daughter time of bonding to be able to share a creative outlet together.

Thank you, ladies, for sharing some words and layouts with us in Amber’s honor.
