Featured Designer FWP – Blagovesta Gosheva
Happy Friday friends! It’s a new day and we’re debuting a new Featured Designer, Blagovesta Gosheva, who has a wonderful kit for us, Blue Jeans & Butterflies! I’m such a sucker for denim elements, and this does not disappoint. I love the denim papers and elements and the fabulous assortment of butterflies! I asked Blagovesta what inspired her to create Blue Jeans & Butterflies and what her design process was. Here’s what she had to say . . .
Honestly, this time there was nothing special to inspire me to make this exact kit. I was just watching my daughter and a few of her friends last week when I noticed that all five of them were wearing denim shorts and t-shirts with flowers, hearts, and butterflies. . . . This is how the idea for such kit came to my mind. It’s a generic, everyday kit but still versatile.
About the design process . . . I usually design all the papers first, but this time the first thing I did was to draw the butterflies, the denim elements, and then the flowers, and somehow the papers came after all those. All the other non-themed elements I created last.
I also asked her what she thinks her strength as a designer is and what she would consider her “signature” . . . or what others would recognize her for.
I don’t really know . . . I don’t think I have any big strengths as a designer. Maybe the others could say if my kits are recognizable or if I have a style of my own. I just create my kits in a way that I like them and hope the customers will like them, too.
