Featured Designer FWP – Grace Lee
Happy Friday friends! It’s a new day and we’re debuting a new Featured Designer, Grace Lee! Grace designed an amazing kit to share with all of us. A Million Dreams {Boy} is a super cute boyish kit with unique vibrant papers and lots of fun space-themed elements. But, Grace included just the right amount of other non-themed elements to make this an extremely versatile kit that could be used for so many different kinds of layouts. I asked Grace what inspired her to create A Million Dreams {Boy} and what her design process was. I also asked her what she thinks her strength as a designer is and what she would consider her “signature” . . . or what others would recognize her for. Here’s what she had to say . . .
I was inspired by my boy to create A Million Dreams {Boy}! The phrase most people use to describe him is that he is “in his own world.” In fact the collection was originally named “La-La Land” because that’s where he spends most of his time! But when the movie “The Greatest Showman” came out, I took the title of one of the songs–it’s perfectly fitting for my little dreamer. Once I have the theme, it’s a matter of putting together the wild colors and space-themed motifs (another thing he’s into!).
I don’t know if it’s my biggest strength, but I like to think that my effort in making my kits cohesive entities shows through in the previews. I like to do colorful themed kits and pack them to the brim with bits and pieces. It makes me happy when everything comes together and forms a cute kit! I hope that’s what people recognize as my signature style.
