Featured Designer FWP – Grace Lee
Happy Friday friends! It’s a new day, and we’re debuting a new Featured Designer! As you know, over the past year and a bit, we’ve had all of our designers in the spotlight as our featured designers, so we’ve started fresh with a new series of featured designer FWP products that will center around the letters of the alphabet! Grace Lee is up next with the letter “H”, and she has an amazing kit for us, H Is for Honey! I just love the direction Grace took with this kit . . . such a cute idea! It has so many adorable elements and gorgeous distressed papers! Take a look . . .
I asked Grace a few questions about this kit and the process she went through to create it. Here’s what she had to say:
Tell us a little bit about the direction you took for your letter of the alphabet.
I had quite a few ideas in mind with the letter “H”, but ultimately went with honey because I thought it would be appropriate to start off 2019 with a sweet kit here at SSD! Also, my daughter was a honey bee this past Halloween and I couldn’t resist.
Did you find it difficult coming up with a concept for your letter?
The difficult part was deciding what I wanted to do, but once I decided (with the help of Robin) it was fun doing all the drawings for this kit.

Do you have any plans for kits or collections coming in the future? Get us excited about what’s on the horizon for you!
I do! Meagan and I were talking about starting a faith-based series in 2019. It’s definitely an idea that has been on my mind a lot this last year and I’m excited to start working on it.
Do you have a design soulmate? Someone you can always count on to bring out the best in you as a designer? Who is it and why are you so proud of what the two of you have created together?
I don’t know if she’d let me call her my design soulmate, but it’d be crazy to not mention Ru, who shared the “Out and About” series with me. We have 15 kits in the series currently, and I don’t think we’re running out of ideas just yet. She always says I push her too much, and during the design process we usually each say “I hate this” at least once . . . but I always love the end product. Show us the last layout you scrapped!
I didn’t scrap a lot in 2018 (something I need to change this year!) but I’m proud of this last one I did!
