Where did you grow up?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oak Harbor, Washington. \u00a0It’s a military town on Whidbey Island in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n

Where do you live now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everett, WA<\/p>\n

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sugar \u2013 jelly beans, conversation hearts, candy corn \u2026 apparently my taste buds never grew up.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s your favorite author?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the moment I look forward to each new release from Louise Penny. \u00a0\u00a0She writes wonderful mysteries that celebrate humanity and life.\u00a0I want to crawl into her books, live in the small town of Three Pines and be friends with the characters in her books.<\/p>\n

What is the last movie you saw?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My kids are watching Joseph: King of Dreams as I type this. \u00a0Does that count?<\/p>\n

Who is the last person you spoke to on the phone?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I called my friend Wanda to ask if she could watch Mya due to a last minute scheduling fiasco. \u00a0She did. Friends are awesome.<\/p>\n

Have you ever met a celebrity?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I met President Clinton briefly during his time in office. \u00a0Can’t think of any others off hand.<\/p>\n

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blue green; According the Crayola Color Corner<\/a> this indicates I’m cold, calm, relaxed, loyal and melancholy. \u00a0Probably accurate.<\/p>\n

Have you ever wished on a star?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yep, still do.<\/p>\n

Read the book or watch the movie?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Definitely read the book.<\/p>\n

Do you scrapbook too or just design?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I scrap, but not as much as I’d like. \u00a0My favorite pages are the ones that bring back the sweetest memories. \u00a0Like this one of my kiddos enjoying being together.<\/p>\n

What is your “home office” or work environment like? Describe it or share a picture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have a tiny IKEA desk in the corner of our family room. \u00a0I’m afraid the surface looks a bit like a junk drawer. \u00a0Right now it’s covered with bits of paper from school, a pile of cards and pictures and a pop bead necklace my daughter made for me. \u00a0You can see it in one of the photos below. \u00a0Think I should wear it to church tomorrow? \u00a0I would totally do something like that, BTW.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As you can tell by the photos, kids and coffee are never far away. \u00a0I like it that way.<\/p>\n

What’s your favorite thing about being a digital scrapbook designer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can set my own hours. \u00a0Making pretty things and playing with photos is much more fun that most other jobs I’ve done in the past.<\/p>\n

What is the strangest thing you’ve ever taken inspiration from to design a kit?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week I released The Game is Afoot<\/a>, inspired by Sherlock Holmes, which I didn’t think was particularly strange, but as a friend pointed out, “blood splatters, revolvers and chalk body outlines aren’t really appropriate for a scrapbook are they?” \u00a0I don’t know, mobsters need to preserve their memories too right? \u00a0Still, I left out the gruesome stuff.<\/p>\n

What kind of colors do you naturally gravitate toward and can count on getting great results from when you work?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love working with rustic and nature inspired palettes.<\/p>\n

Food For Thought<\/span><\/h2>\n

When did you first realize that life is short?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The night before my 8th birthday. \u00a0My mom lightheartedly said, “enjoy your last night of being 7, it will never come again.” \u00a0I cried and tried to stay up the whole night so I wouldn’t turn 8, I liked being 7.<\/p>\n

When was the last time you felt lucky?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This morning when I looked into my Baby Girl’s eyes. \u00a0Baby Girl, aka Mya, is 4, but always my Baby Girl. I just felt so blessed to be a mom to such precious children.<\/p>\n

What is something you have always wanted since you were a kid?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A motorcycle.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s one downside of the modern day world?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We spend more time looking at screens than we do people.<\/p>\n

How would you describe your future in three words?<\/strong><\/p>\n
