hey, hey sweet shoppers! \u00a0laura here today, i know that i’m a little later than usual in posting but, i had to do research for my post today \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

if you know me, you know i’ve been SUPER excited for the release of the Hunger Games this weekend. \u00a0i’ve been listening to the soundtrack since it came out on tuesday and well, i’ve been following the making of it, watched the red carpet hobknobings for the premiere and just basically acting like a teenage girl about it. \u00a0today, you get to listen to me gush over what i thought was a BRILLIANT book to movie adaptation. \u00a0the hubster and i went to see it this morning and well, i can’t wait to go and see it again!<\/p>\n

when the casting first came out, i was SO excited…minus the dude playing peeta. \u00a0i didn’t know him and well, he didn’t fit *my* version of peeta. \u00a0i will admit that i think everyone was cast perfectly. \u00a0lenny kravits was brilliant as cinna. \u00a0i mean, he was cinna. \u00a0no doubt about it. \u00a0i thought woody harrelson was haymitch…through and through. \u00a0he was the loving, caring, albeit a jerky drunk and he even looked the part with his longer, stringy hair. \u00a0wes bentley as seneca crane was another spot on casting call. \u00a0i thought he was just the right amount of devious, but you could see that he was well, rooting for the underdog. (har har) \u00a0president snow. \u00a0oh, president snow. \u00a0donald sutherland creeps me out anyway, and i thought he was again, perfect.<\/p>\n
i obviously have a deep love of these books, i’ve read them 4 times so far…and plan on picking up mockingjay again when i’m done posting this! \u00a0that being said, my husband had never read them and really didn’t have ANY idea what the movie was about, other than 24 people getting together to fight to the death. \u00a0he was absolutely appalled with how it ended (LOL) but, he also didn’t realize there were 2 more books in the series. \u00a0he did however, love the movie nearly as much as i did. \u00a0there were parts that he was confused about but for the most part, he never felt lost and enjoyed it immensely.<\/p>\n

i really enjoyed the ‘behind the scenes’ scenes. \u00a0there was so much done with the gamemakers and seneca crane and i just really enjoyed seeing that aspect of it as well.<\/p>\n

so, tell me, did you love it? \u00a0did you hate it? \u00a0could you care less??<\/p>\n
