{"id":12667,"date":"2012-04-23T09:11:42","date_gmt":"2012-04-23T13:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/?p=12667"},"modified":"2012-04-23T17:46:02","modified_gmt":"2012-04-23T21:46:02","slug":"teacher-appreciation-ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/index.php\/2012\/04\/teacher-appreciation-ideas\/","title":{"rendered":"Teacher Appreciation Ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone, it&#8217;s Juli here with a few get ahead of the game ideas on end of the year Teacher Appreciation gifts you can create using hybrid techniques.\u00a0 Our elementary school hosts a Teacher Appreciation Week the week before Mother&#8217;s Day every year.\u00a0 While the PTA does a few things like breakfasts, lunches, and a little gift for each teacher, it&#8217;s really up to the homeroom moms to plan activities for the class to show their appreciation for the teacher throughout the week.\u00a0 Now this year I gave the homeroom reigns over to a stay at home mom who totally rocks at being a homeroom mom (because she happens to have the time in her life to do this).\u00a0 Just because I&#8217;m a working mom doesn&#8217;t mean that I can&#8217;t participate though.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got some cute ideas for you today so that your little one has something fun and unique to give her teacher come teacher appreciation time.\u00a0 Oh, and for you Homeschooling moms.\u00a0 There is nothing that says you can&#8217;t make one of these items for yourself.\u00a0 (I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but if you have older kids&#8230;some of these projects are easy enough for you to have them make on their own.)<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Post It Note Holder created by Juli Fish<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is a project that is easy to adapt to any teacher&#8217;s classroom or even to fit the teacher&#8217;s personality.\u00a0 The frame pictured is 5 x 7&#8243; but I&#8217;ve done them in the 4 x 6 size and regular 3&#8243; x 3&#8243; post-it notes still fit (plus you can print your design at Walgreens as a 4&#215;6&#8243; picture if you don&#8217;t have a color printer).<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"note holder\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g182\/jubeefish\/noteholder.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p>click <a href=\"http:\/\/evakipler.com\/?m=200908\">HERE<\/a> for directions on how to make this cute project<\/p>\n<p><strong>Covered Mini-Legal Pads &#8211; mini-legal pad (Staples), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/sweetshoppe\/product.php?productid=22118&amp;cat=0&amp;page=1\">Shore Thing by Misty Cato<\/a>, colored card stock (SU!), double stick tape<\/p>\n<p>Supply Basket &#8211; by Juli Fish<br \/>\nI used a Dollar Store bin and created a simple label to stick on to decorate the basket.\u00a0 Then I used a paper bag and a coordinating label to match the basket.\u00a0 This was created for the class to bring in supplies for the teacher on one of the appreciation days (last year I had a theme for each day).\u00a0 You could easily use this same technique and fill the basket with tissue paper and then stuff with snacks, gift cards, school supplies or even lotions to give as a gift.\u00a0 Who doesn&#8217;t love a re-useable bin along with a gift?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Kelly basket\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g182\/jubeefish\/teachapp2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppecommunity.com\/gallery\/showphoto.php?photo=186354&amp;title=hybrid-teacher-appreciation-giftsteacher-2&amp;cat=500\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Basket 2\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g182\/jubeefish\/teachapp1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Supplies &#8211; White lunch bags and bins (Dollar Tree), ribbon (Michael&#8217;s), kit by Dani<\/p>\n<p>Rainbow Paper Basket &#8211; by Juli Fish<br \/>\nNot necessarily a gift for my child&#8217;s main teacher(s) but a cute little basket decorated with a saying that says how special teachers are and then stuffed with a little candy and the $1 Bath and Body Works lotion &#8211; perfect for specials teachers, bus drivers and after school daycare teachers!\u00a0 Or just a little something for one day during the whole week.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"rainbow basket\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g182\/jubeefish\/rainbowbox.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Supplies &#8211;\u00a0 cardstock (JoAnn&#8217;s), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/sweetshoppe\/product.php?productid=21798&amp;cat=0&amp;page=3\">Better Together by Eva Kipler and Jay Day Studio<\/a>, Basket Template<\/p>\n<p>Gift Card Holder by Juli Fish<br \/>\nGiving a gift card is always a good teacher gift.\u00a0 For this gift card I collected money from the class and we were able to give the teacher a nice gift card to the Cheesecake Factory as an end of the week gift.\u00a0 To make this gift card holder I created my design in Elements and then printed and added it to a sturdy piece of card stock.\u00a0 I added a raised flower for dimension and then adhered a Starbucks coffee cup wrap to the card (make sure to tape the bottom shut so the gift card wouldn&#8217;t fall out).\u00a0 I then added a little decorative panel to hide the Starbucks logo and then tucked in the card and put it in an envelope.
