So much at times my heart almost feels as if it might break in half. I know he is getting older-OMG he is going to be 20 (TWENTY) on Monday-he will forever remain that one little bundle that changed my life forever-making me a mom.

Connor has enjoyed his Summer doing nothing before he starts college this month-we encouraged him to get a job-but he would have none of it saying he needed to enjoy his Summer like everyone else-I hated to have to be the one to remind him that Summer takes on an entire new meaning once you graduate, unless you get a job in education (like me). He has however in the last week filled out a few applications, which makes me happy because he is staying here in Macomb and going to a local community college and will have the time to work and I think a job will give him such a sense of pride and validation.

My sweet little Landen has enjoyed Summer exactly how an almost 8 year old should. Staying up late, sleeping in and lots of video games. It seems as if he has grown 20 inches this summer and the change from little boy to big boy seems to have happened in 11 short weeks. I especially notice the change when I shoot him. That little boy look is quickly being replaced by the face of a young man-as much as I long for him to stay little-there is something very amazing about the fact that soon enough he will take the same path as his brothers and grow up into what I hope is an amazing man. Time goes so quickly and no one knows that better than me since I have the constant reminders in his big brothers.

As far as my Summer adventures? Well-we didn’t go on any huge vacation-I didn’t run my booty off taking my kids all over the place. One of my favorite things about Summer is the fact that I can sit down and scrap-and scrap I did. I made so many pages this Summer-so many more than I can swing during the school year. Besides staying up late and sleeping in that is the thing I will miss the most when I return to work. I love being able to get 3+ LO’s a week done for the amazing Sweet Shoppe Designs designers-they work so hard packing the store every week, it’s a great feeling being able to showcase so many of their products each week.

So I feel as if I’ve rambled on long enough-really about nothing important-or maybe it IS important-nothing HUGE, nothing breathtaking-but REAL LIFE-and honestly, I guess that is the most important thing ever-living your life-the way that you want and realizing that upon reflection, you didn’t need to do anything mind boggling to make memories. Embrace YOUR everyday!

Happy Thursday Sweet Shoppers!

ShannonG

So, here I sit-one week and one day away from the end of my Summer vacation-I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be happy or sad-because my emotions run both sides at any given moment.
