I’m Kellie, aka joelsgirl, and I’ve been around the Sweet Shoppe since it opened it’s doors. I’m an American living in the Philippines, where it’s more fun! {That’s their tourism motto; and it’s often true!} My husband and I have three kids: Jack, Max and Ariana, and they’re all featured in my selfies. : ) You might find yourself thinking that my hair looks way better long and curled, and I would agree! But that tropical heat finally made me chop it all off a couple of weeks ago, and it’s fun to have a new, fresh {cooler} look!<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0August 2014 PG 3-\u00a0I’ve been doing pocket pages since 2012, and I love getting to use cards & photos as the main part of my page. This was such a fun day for us, and I love how the page captures that feeling.<\/div>\n
2. Ariana Year 2- I LOVE big, bold patterned papers and bright colors; pair them with pics of the girl child and I feel like I have arrived.<\/div>\n
3. \u00a0My Anchor-\u00a0I did this for the Summer Shadowbox Challenge to use a nautical theme; the kit was a FWP SSD collab that always stumped me because it’s not in “my” colors. Once I decided to journal about my husband, the rest just came together to become one of my favorite layouts this year.<\/div>\n
4. \u00a0Week 26 PG 2-\u00a0I used Misty’s Words & Pictures templates for my weekly pages the first half of this year, and I love the way my pictures take center stage but I still get to use pretty papers & embellishments. This spread of our week at the beach is my favorite from the whole year!<\/div>\n

Words & Pictures by Misty Cato-\u00a0I bought this set of Misty’s templates over iNSD weekend, and I went back after I used it and bought several more sets. They are perfect for making a page focused on your photos, & you can still use patterned papers and pocket style cards.<\/div>\n

We’ve been blessed to spend the last 12 years living in some beautiful places in Southeast Asia, and these are some of my favorite places.
\nTip of Borneo It’s this isolated beach at the northernmost point on the island of Borneo, and the sunsets are just amazing!
\nPulau Mantanani It wasn’t easy to get to, but man, it was worth it! Miles of white sand and crystal clear water made this island my most favorite in all of Malaysia.
\nPulau Manukan The island chain off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, where we lived for 9 years, was just a 15 minute boat ride away. It was a great spot for a day trip, and some of our best memories are there.
\nBali Our family has spent a week there every summer for the last several years, and I love the culture, the friendly people, the delicious food & of course the amazing beach!<\/p>\n

You can provide a goat for a farmer or clean drinking water for a family, as well as giving towards a crisis.<\/div>\n
Humans of New York\u00a0{https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/humansofnewyork<\/a>} He takes people’s pictures and tells their stories. Right now he’s touring the world with the UN, and I keep realizing how similar we all are, despite all of our differences.<\/div>\n
