Happy Hybrid Wednesday!\u00a0 SaraL here, with a few little extra Valentines ideas to share with you – just in case you were still undecided as to what to make for Sunday’s big day.<\/p>\n

I’m going to start with a tried & tested but still\u00a0sweet idea for the young Valentines in your life:\u00a0\u00a0Lollipop flowers, made using Lil’ Birdhouse by Eva, Traci, Susan, Julie, Melissa & Zoe and\u00a0 is the kit included free with issue one\u00a0of the Simply Sweet magazine<\/a>:<\/p>\n

This is such a quick and simple gift idea to mark the day – and would be equally be perfect for a little girls party bag\u00a0or end of school term treat.\u00a0 I simply printed out the required number of flowers onto A4 card, and after snipping them out, I punched a hole in the centre just large enough to\u00a0push a lollipop stick\u00a0through.\u00a0 I deliberately chose a simple flower design to make the cutting out straight forward – essential if you plan to make lots!\u00a0 I used my Crop-a-Dile Big Bite to punch the central holes, but using a sharp pencil or knitting needle\u00a0and a ball of plasticine would work too.\u00a0 For that extra special touch I added a bow of organza ribbon (my favourite kind of ribbon).<\/p>\n

Have you even added little love notes to your partners suitcase before they went off on a business trip, or added a note to your child’s lunch box?\u00a0 Well, how about making a set of mini love note cards ready to scatter around the house on Valentines?<\/p>\n

These were made using Lauren Reid’s Love Day Cards<\/a>, all sized in Photoshop to print and\u00a0fit perfectly in a matchbox decorated to match.\u00a0 The match box is a DIY Printable Template<\/a>\u00a0from Heather Roselli.<\/p>\n

Mentioning Heather’s templates brings me onto another. When she released her Geo Card templates\u00a0<\/a>at the end of last year, I immediately\u00a0decided I wanted\u00a0to use the hexagonal one as a ‘ he loves me, he loves me not’ flower for Valentines.\u00a0 So here it is, using Shawna Clingerman’s stunning valentines kit, U and I<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The biggest tips with all<\/em> hybrid templates is to take your time and\u00a0follow the designers instructions, then everything will line up as you planned.\u00a0 I finished my card off with a leather ribbon tie and a heart charm.\u00a0 The leather ribbon was scavenged from a clothing label – waste not, want not!<\/p>\n

Finally, don’t forget that the Sweet Shoppe’s Hybrid Inspiration gallery <\/a>is a huge, fantastic resource of ideas, just waiting for you to have a wander through.\u00a0 That’s just what I did and found these lovely Valentine card examples to show off to you\u00a0by pixeletta<\/a>\u00a0and JenTapler<\/a>\u00a0respectively:<\/p>\n
