Hi!\u00a0 Sara here with a nice random post about life in the Lively household.<\/p>\n

Over the past couple of weeks, our son, Alex & I have been sowing seeds \u2013 just on a small scale – together.\u00a0 It combines three of his favourite things: water, mud & telling his mother what to do!<\/p>\n

We do have a small garden, but its covered in chipped bark to provide a soft landing for my over-adventurous boy below his climbing frame\u00a0and trampoline! \u2026hence we have plant pots, hanging baskets & even more pots on window sills, though fewer this year than usual as we\u2019re going on vacation to the US in the middle of the Summer (visiting my Aunt & family in Ohio \u2013 can\u2019t wait!!).<\/p>\n

To compensate for the lack of homegrown produce this year, we\u2019re planning to go to a pick-your-own farm in June as I have a need to make Strawberry jam (jelly?), using my darling Grandma\u2019s jam pan \u2013 she died in February & I miss her so much.\u00a0 There is simply nothing like homemade jam on top of warm home-baked scones (I think you call them biscuits in the States).<\/p>\n

Anyway\u2026 in the last few weeks we\u2019ve sowed pumpkin, lettuce, tomato & alpine strawberry seeds, plus potatoes, and pretty purple violas.\u00a0 Alex usually likes to \u2018instruct\u2019 me when we do a project together; be it baking, planting, building Lego or a snowman, you name it.\u00a0 Its very funny to hear him use his \u2018teachers\u2019 voice \u2013 after all he is only 8, but even still, there\u2019s no messing about when Master Lively is in charge\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Its wonderful to see his pleasure in planning teeny seeds seeing\u00a0them grow into something wonderful\u00a0\u2013 its still magic<\/em> & not simply nature to him.<\/p>\n

..I know – its kind of strange me doing a LO, but I was in the mood – and had a lot of help from Cindy’s template<\/a>, Penny’s frame clusters<\/a>\u00a0& Jenn’s kit<\/a> to name a few\u00a0\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Finally I just had to show you a pic or two of\u00a0our roses,which smell just like roses should, but so often don\u2019t today.\u00a0 Pity the picture isn\u2019t like the scratch \u2018n smell ones in kids magazines \u2013 the perfume is that amazing\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
