{"id":7505,"date":"2011-07-14T07:00:15","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T11:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/?p=7505"},"modified":"2011-12-16T11:38:43","modified_gmt":"2011-12-16T16:38:43","slug":"365-days-of-bliss-my-method","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/index.php\/2011\/07\/365-days-of-bliss-my-method\/","title":{"rendered":"365 Days of Bliss: My Method"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone!\u00a0 It&#8217;s Kresta here, with another day of bliss for you on the Sweet Shoppe blog.<\/p>\n<p>A little while back, there was a thread in the forum about keeping photos organized and more specifically, organizing photos you want to scrap.\u00a0 I explained my method a little in the thread, but thought I would take the opportunity to give a little more detail for you today on the blog.<\/p>\n<p>I scrap chronologically and create bound books for each year of layouts.\u00a0 I have found that this works best for me.\u00a0 However, I think that my organizational method would work no matter how you scrap.<\/p>\n<p>All of my photos are organized by date.\u00a0 I copy my photos onto my external (EHD) each month and they are organized into yearly folders, which includes monthly folders, which includes each date I take photos.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/EHD.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"244\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/2010.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"318\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/10-2010.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"307\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My &#8220;Pictures&#8221; folder on my laptop is in a similar format:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/Pictures.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The main difference is that I put previous months into monthly folders, but keep the current month as separate daily folders as I take the photos.\u00a0 I also have a separate P365 folder.<\/p>\n<p>Now, here&#8217;s where it gets to organizing them for scrapping.\u00a0 I go through my pictures folder each month, or maybe every couple of weeks, and decide which photos I want to scrap.\u00a0 We all know that all photos are not scrap-worthy.\u00a0 So I just try to choose the ones that I really love or the ones that are representative of something I want remembered in our albums.<\/p>\n<p>Next, I open those photos in PSE.\u00a0 I usually do just one day or one layout at a time.\u00a0 I open a new 12&#215;12 file in PSE and plop those pictures on that blank page with no design to it at all.\u00a0 I save it as a TIF file with the date and a general name (e.g., Claire&#8217;s Lost Tooth).\u00a0 Then it goes into my &#8220;Need to Scrap&#8221; folder which belongs in my 2011 LOs folder.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/2011-LOs-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y80\/Kresta\/Blog%20stuff\/Need-to-Scrap.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"402\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can see that I&#8217;ve even placed some photos on some of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetshoppedesigns.com\/sweetshoppe\/search.php?mode=search&amp;page=1\">Cindy&#8217;s Super Sevens templates<\/a> for some of my P365 pages (which I am still soooooo far behind on); I even already did the journaling for those.\u00a0 So all they need is a kit and some tweaking, and they&#8217;re ready to go!<\/p>\n<p>This is the method that I&#8217;ve found works best for me.\u00a0 So if I feel like scrapping, I know I can just open up my &#8220;Need to Scrap&#8221; folder and choose whatever page I can find.\u00a0 Even though I say I scrap chronologically, I guess that&#8217;s not entirely accurate.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t mind going out of chronological order from within this folder, because I know that everything is saved by date and will eventually get scrapped for my chronological albums.<\/p>\n<p>I have to admit that this folder has a lot more files in it during this Summer, since we&#8217;ve been keeping busy.\u00a0 But I know that I&#8217;ll eventually whittle it down.<\/p>\n<p>Did this help you figure out a way to organize the photos you want to scrap?\u00a0 Do you have a way that works better for you?\u00a0 Would love to hear about it in the comments!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone!\u00a0 It&#8217;s Kresta here, with another day of bliss for you on the Sweet Shoppe blog.
