Happy Friday Sweet Shoppers, Keely here today. We\u2019re still wearing shorts around here but we have Halloween like the rest of the USA, and that\u2019s what really signifies Fall to me. I\u2019ve been noticing some bucket lists around the interwebs and this weekend I\u2019m planning on marking one or two off my own list. I love Halloween, it\u2019s so much fun, I love the decorations, pumpkins and carving jack o\u2019lanterns, the dressing up and yes, the creep factor too. So, we\u2019ll be camped out in the dark watching a scary movie or two.<\/p>\n
I really like a good scare. In a completely safe and harmless way, of course. When I was little I found The Twilight Zone<\/a>, Wait Until Dark<\/a>, The Watcher In The Woods<\/a>, Tales From The Darkside<\/a>. I read through V.C. Andrews<\/a>, Edgar Allen Poe<\/a>,and Stephen King<\/a> books. It<\/a>, is still one of the scariest books I\u2019ve read, still one of my faves. Suspense, twists and turns, things that you keep thinking afterwards, that’s what I like. I\u2019m more of a Seven<\/a> vs Friday The 13th<\/a>. But I\u2019d be lying if I said there weren\u2019t a few pretty good Nightmare On Elm Street<\/a> movies. Oh and Scream<\/a> too. TV’s been pretty good to me too, I’m excited about the return of The Walking Dead<\/a> and the new American Horror Story<\/a>, looks promising too.<\/p>\n My oldest daughter came across R.L.Stine<\/a> and she passed that down to her sister.They both went through their own Goosebumps<\/a> creep streak. Aside from Goosebumps<\/a> my youngest is only eight and isn\u2019t interested (exposed) to most things scary. She has Destination Truth<\/a>, the kid loves that show and thinks it has just the right heebyjeeby factor. My oldest daughter thinks Jurassic Park<\/a> was one of the scariest movies she\u2019s seen. She likes to be a little scared but she does not like anything even remotely gross, she thought Paranormal Activity 2<\/a> was just right. \u201cSo scary, not icky.\u201d<\/p>\n Seems that scary is very subjective.<\/p>\n My husband is game for anything, he watches it all. He mostly likes to instigate and ask \u201cAre you scared yet?\u201d, \u201cDid you jump?\u201d. He gets creeped out too. I’m convinced.<\/p>\n I’m off to prep some fake Chex mix, and start narrowing down some choices for our Family Fright Fest. It may take a while.
