Welcome, my sweet scrappy friends, to our newest blog series! We call it “One Kit, Endless Possibilities”<\/strong> – where we show you many different ways to use a single digital scrapbooking kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the major benefits of digital scrapbooking over traditional paper scrapbooking is the fact that digital scrapbooking supplies are all reusable<\/strong>. Unlike stickers or die-cuts that are single-use on a single layout, digital supplies can be used over and over again. Find an alphabet you love? You can use it on as many layouts as you’d like! No need to hoard your favorite flowers, foliage, word art, or decorative elements, waiting to use them on the perfect layout. With digital, you can use them – and reuse them – as many times as you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, we’re featuring a fun collection from Becca Bonneville<\/strong> that’s just perfect for springtime and the month of March. It’s called Rootin’ for Ya<\/a><\/strong> and can be found in the Shoppe right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collection<\/a> features the perfect springtime color palette centered around shades of green – both lime and Kelly – with pops of orange, yellow, pink, and turquoise. While the elements and word art are centered around the theme of gardening, there’s also the general theme of growth, and you can even pull off a fun Easter or St. Patrick’s Day layout with this collection!<\/p>\n\n\n

The kit<\/a> can be purchased separately, or you can save money when you buy the entire collection<\/a>. The collection includes an alpha pack with three full alphabets and one set of numbers, a set of adorable pocket cards, and pack filled with ephemera.<\/p>\n\n\n

We gave this kit to the SugarBabes and challenged them to use it to create a variety of different layouts. Just wait till you see what they came up with!<\/p>\n\n\n

SugarBabe Tammy gives us our first layout with an on-theme <\/strong>use of the kit. Since her photographs are focused on telling the story of her vegetable garden, this kit makes for a Scrapbooking Match Made in Heaven<\/em>! I love the way she stacked and angled the seed packet elements to give her page a beautifully layered look.<\/p>\n\n\n

LeeAndra demonstrates how versatile this kit can be by breaking away from the gardening theme and, instead, using it on a layout with an alternate theme<\/strong>: Easter. The sweet little elements she picked out tell the story of spring, and the vibrant patterned paper she chose for her background is a beautiful complement for her photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LeeAndra says, “This is such a cute kit (Becca’s illustrations are always the best!) but we have a bunch of black thumbs around here – ha! I decided that I could use this kit for an Easter layout & get to use some of the fun non-gardening drawings that way.”<\/p>\n\n\n

Instead of matching the kit to her photographs by theme, Carrie matched them up by color for a non-themed <\/strong>layout. The soft pink of the high chair and the soft blue of the baby’s bib are a perfect match to Becca’s kit. I’m a big fan of all those little elements Carrie used!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of fun little elements, Evelyn got so much use out of the ephemera stickers and three-dimensional elements on her cluster-heavy <\/strong>page. Evelyn says, “I love this kit and the fantastic assortment of papers and ellies to work with! There are so many beautiful ellies it was hard to choose because I wanted to use them all!” Personally, really dig the look Evelyn achieved with the mix of flat and dimensional elements in her clusters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SugarBabe Charlene went a totally different direction and used this kit to create a minimalist page<\/strong>. With lots of whitespace and that lovely textured cardstock as well as a little patterned paper in her fun vertical border, Charlene was also able to pull the tomato stickers from the kit and use them to echo the theme in the patterned paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlene says, “These pictures made me think of simple joys of childhood so I wanted to create a simple page. I love the resulting fresh, easy feel that Becca’s kit allowed me to create.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our resident Queen of Pocket Scrapbooking<\/em> is SugarBabe Krista L, and she used Becca’s kit to create a lovely pocket layout. Just look at all of those gorgeous journaling cards with tiny layered embellishments. Each one is like it’s own little canvas, and the result is absolutely beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of journaling cards, you don’t have to be a pocket-style scrapbooker to get a ton of use out of them. SugarBabe Rebecca demonstrates this by using journaling cards on a traditional-style layout<\/strong>. She used several of them to create a layered paper background. Then, she added her photograph to a larger card and used it to house her journaling. The mix of cards and elements from the kit result in an absolutely adorable and coordinated layout!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m a big believer in the saying, “If the shoes fit, buy them in every color.” The digital scrapbooking equivalent is, “if you love the element, use it over and over again” – and SugarBabe Heather did just that by repeating an element <\/strong>on her page. She took the carrot sticker from the ephemera pack and alternated its angle and orientation to create a fun horizontal space that pulls the eye across the page. And her drop shadows really make this page stand out with tons of dimension!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SugarBabe Cassie had fun playing with the alphabet sets<\/strong> included in the Rootin’ For Ya! Collection<\/a> to create this adorable layout. I especially love the effect she achieved on the word “contrary” by planting the picks in the dirt background of her page. “I used a blend mode on the orange & black papers,” says Cassie, “to make brown ‘dirt’.” That’s one of the things I love about playing with digital papers … when you start blending them together in your favorite digital design software, the results are almost endless!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Babes were having so much fun playing with this kit, I decided I just had to join in. For my layout, I combined two kits<\/strong>; the color scheme of Becca’s Rootin’ For Ya!<\/a> was a perfect match for Traci Reed’s Our Story Matters<\/a> and they work together SO well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using two kits gave me an even wider range of elements to choose from, especially florals and foliage, as I built my clusters. I think what I love best about my layout are the circular pieces of word art from Becca’s gardening-themed kit. Phrases like “Feeling Cute,” “Home Grown,” and “Grow Baby” worked just as well on my page about the niece of my heart, Tegan, as they would on a layout about a garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the best part? When I’m ready to create a layout about planting flowers or vegetables, I can pull out Rootin’ For Ya!<\/a> and use it all over again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there we have it: one kit, ten different ways <\/strong>to use it on a scrapbook page! Whether you opt to create a layout that’s on-theme for the kit, an alternate theme, or completely un-themed, the choice is yours. You can create lots of element clusters or go completely minimalist, make a pocket-style scrapbook layout or use the journaling cards outside those page protectors, repeat a favorite element over and over, play with the alphabets to create a stellar title, or mix the kit with another to give yourself lots of options. And best of all, you’ll never run out of stickers or embellishments because with digital, you can use them over and over again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
