A spoonie is a person with chronic illness/pain who subscribes to a spoon theory in which spoons are used  to demonstrate how much energy a person with a chronic illness has each day, and how much is used up doing simple tasks like washing or getting dressed. People with chronic illness or pain use up far more spoons to do simple tasks than a person in great health.
