Oh but its not Saturday you say? Well lets just pretend for a moment that it is! Now I can just slip in my little post without any feelings of guilt! Ah that feels better!!

So what do I do now? Since I’m obviously the most organised and longest standing babe in Sweet Shoppe town I thought Id take a little stroll down memory lane. Rewind the clock back past Saturday and just over a year ago. I’m reading an email about a new venture between several of the designers on a site that I frequent regularly. The email advised that they are after a creative team to help promote their designs and would be accepting applications. I take in this info in awe of the list of designers looking to join forces. Would I want to be a part of this I wondered for all of about 3 seconds!

Problem!! Self doubt begins to seep in – you know how it goes – I think I left it till pretty close to the deadline before my logic kicked in! Really what is there to lose? Complex thought process expanded as follows:

• Known Value: Currently not on this team
• Complex Equation 1. – apply and not get on team = no change + deal with rejection.
• Complex Equation 2. – apply and actually succeed = seventh heaven + cloud nine.
• Complex Equation 3. – dont apply and dont get on team = Complex Equation 1 – deal with rejection.

So now all I have to do is apply – off to design an application in the form of a lo – decide that this is too difficult for me to write – light bulb moment – get 6 year old dd to apply on my behalf. She pleaded and begged (we used a great plead and beg pic of her!) to refrain from selecting her Mummy so she could be a slave to the household! (note to self – must share DD’s letter with her now that she can read!)

There – its done – I’ve applied!! Now comes the wait – constantly checking emails for any news – you know how it goes when you’re waiting for that 7th heaven to come knocking at your door! A kind of frenzy takes hold where you seem to believe that the news will come faster if you’re constantly checking on it! Refresh, refresh, refresh – hang washing, refresh, refresh!
And then its there…should I read it or not?? Been waiting for this thing and willing it into my mailbox and now that it’s sitting there do I really want to know?? The excitement and hype has been so much fun I wasn’t sure I wanted it deflated. Gingerly I clicked on the mail!

O M G!! Am I reading this right – maybe they sent it to the wrong person – you know accidentally slipped in the acceptance instead of the rejection during the mail out! Seems to be fine – oh yes that’s my name on the list – 0h and its even spelt right – OOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG – happy dance begins inside heart and head! Skip around house!! Reread acceptance like 30 times – Haaa Haa; funny note at bottom says let us know if you accept! Man, Are they kidding? Interested? Must be the understatement of the year!

And so … an amazing journey began with me right there on board that candy coated good ship lollipop known as the Sweet Shoppe. I can honestly say I am just as excited today about being a part of this team. I marvel at the balance between professionalism and fun. The Sweet Shoppe is always evolving with new challenges and concepts, new babes and designers and now with the addition of the forum and gallery a growing member base to share our love of digiscrapping with!

And that’s my story on becoming a babe (not related to any farming movie). With a shoppe loaded with sweetest schtuff I can’t leave this post without something pretty to look at so I played with Dani’s Rainy Days and Mondays, Paula’s Foto Phrames and Christy’s Circle Date Stamps to showcase the author of my application – my beautiful messy DD! Since I am now the proud owner of Photoblast Pro I couldn’t resist taking this opportunity to play with my new actions!
