30 Days of Gratitude: Day 9
SugarBabe Maria shares her gratitude for a favorite treat.

I started 2013 with the desire to be more present and celebrate the little things. A lot of my scrapbooking reflects this, and I’ve grown more reflective and grateful as a result.
I always laugh about the disproportionately large number of donut layouts I scrap, but it’s true . . . I’m grateful for donuts.
My boyfriend and I pick ours up from an area donut shop with unpredictable hours and hyperbolic signs on the door reading, “Be back in 5 minutes.” Even when we do manage to make it through the front doors, we consider ourselves lucky if there are more than a couple flavors still left in the cases. But despite our grumblings, I think it makes the donut victory that much sweeter when we do manage to grab an orange creme (my favorite) or a maple bacon (Ray’s).
While I would gladly gorge myself on donuts on the regular, I realize, like with anything else in life, a more balanced approach is advisable. I know that without bad things there couldn’t be good things–If an orange creme donut was delivered to me every morning would I still think it was special? Or, if our favorite donuts were produced in unlimited quantities, would they be any different than their less flavorful, mass produced brothers and sisters?
So yes, I’m grateful for donuts, and I can’t help but think how lucky I am everytime I eat one.

LOL I’m grateful that my hubby has quit wanting to go out for donuts on a weekly basis…because my backside doesn’t need it! But when I do splurge, our local spot has a really good whole wheat donut…makes me feel like I’m not being tooooo bad by indulging 🙂
