365 Days of Bliss: Day 19 – The end is only the beginning…
Hello everyone!! Laurie (LibbysMommy) here and today I get to share some thoughts on something that is really pretty big in our lives right now. Can you believe it’s nearing the end of the school year already? I know I can’t. It seems like just yesterday that my daughter Libby was entering Kindergarten. I remember the HUGE range of emotions I felt when I registered her for school last summer. How is it that my first born baby could already be ready to be in school all day long?? It was such a big year for her. She made new friends, lost a few teeth, learned to tie her shoes, learned to read, played soccer and started dance class. I can see just how much she has changed and it amazes me. As much as I’ve loved having her in school, I’ve also come to really dislike quite a few things about school. In December, over Christmas break, after prayerfully considering our options, I decided that I would start homeschooling her when she started first grade. I searched high and low for the curriculum that we feel is perfect for us right now and I’ve thought about how things are going to go this next school year. I have to admit, I’m a bit nervous about how things are going to go, but more than anything I’m so excited to see what this next chapter of our lives and her education will bring. The fact that she is so excited about it and the fact that we have a fantastic support group that is cheering us on makes it that much more exciting!! I would love to hear your best piece of homeschooling advice!! If you’d like to share, please leave a comment for me!! 🙂 And before I go, I have to show you my gorgeous girl…here she is on her first day of Kindergarten…
And here she was just a few days ago…*sigh*
Isn’t it amazing how much kids can grow in just a year’s time?!

I don’t really have homeschooling advice, either… but after going to our state conference for homeschooling, we are even more convinced it is the right thing for our family… so maybe that is a bit of advice… see what your state has for conferences and who is your regional contact to gain information on other families in your area who are homeschooling and if there are any coops to do things, like field trips. 🙂
