365 Days of Bliss – Day 54: Small treats can make a big difference
Hello! Sara (livelys) here with something for you to think about today….that its so easy to forget about you: your one & only self.
Life is sooooo busy: the kids, your other half, work, grocery shopping, promises of visits or assistance to family or friends, even the laundry…. in what ever combination, permeation or size these commitments (and probably half a dozen others) come in, it can leave very little time or energy for you – and yet you are the vital glue holding (or maybe juggling!) all of these things together.
But its so very important to take a little me-time. Time to recharge and make yourself feel good! To remind yourself that you really are just as important as those around you, and that you should be taking care of yourself too – physically, mentally & spiritually.
Doing this can be ever so difficult!!! Believe me, I do know! But I’ve found that even the smallest of treats and just 10 minutes here & there can make the world of difference to how you feel about your world and all those things you simply have to get done!
Taking precious time to scrap and create is one thing we all have in common here within the Sweet Shoppe community– and if you’ve never joined in any of the wonderfully varied threads of chat in the forum, why not take 5 minutes to join in this week? You’ll find some simply wonderful people out there willing to share ideas, links & even personal experiences that may just surprise, entertain or even lift your heart a little! Knowing you’re not the only one out there feeling the way you do about something is an amazing thing.
I’ve started with the SSD Sweet Reads book club, and am thoroughly enjoying reading & listen to a more varied range of books than I’ve tried before. Again its about chatting to people, trying new things & carving out just a little time to indulge in a good book. …though I have to confess, when I read The Girl Who Chased the Moon (one of the books for May) I ignored my house, stayed up late, and let my husband & son fend for themselves for the day as I couldn’t put this feel-good book down! How’s that for me-time!?
I do silly little things too, which make me feel just a little more positive about being me: an indulgent bath (I l-o-v-e Lush bath bombs – who wouldn’t want a pink, sweet smelling bath now & again, or one the colour of a Caribbean sea?!). I like my toenails to be painted too – it makes me feel grownup & girly all at the same time! Neither of these things cost much in money or time, but make a big difference in how I feel.

So take a moment now to think about what wonderfully personal-to-you little something
you going to do this week to make you
