Happy 4th of July, and welcome to this month’s edition of Show-Off and Shout-Out with the SugarBabes! Even though our usual “This or That?” Challenges are on hiatus for the months of July and August while our super special Summer Scrap-A-Thon is going on (more on that later!) I still wanted to ask some of the SugarBabes to share their Show-Off and Shout-Outs to close out the month of June. Here’s what Jacinda, Mary (mrsashbaugh), Dalis, Jaye, and Kiana had to say about their own favorite layout they created this month as well as a layout created by another scrapbooker they absolutely loved.

Why Jacinda is proud of this layout: “With digital scrapbooking in general, I don’t tend to see or include memorabilia like I did in my paper scrapped albums. For this layout of my grandfather, I scanned his actual war medals and photos. This is all he had, and all the info we know about his war service, so it’s special to me that I have documented it for the family now.”

Why Jacinda loves “Wanderlust” by LorMW: “Her choice of papers, the torn effect and the deep shadow work really caught my eye. It feels 3 dimensional. I also love how she kept her embellishments limited, and let the photo and the shadows take center stage.”

Why Mary is proud of this layout: “I love a good clustered layout and I really love how this one came together. The colors were fun to work with and I loved seeing them against the black and white striped background. I also wanted to use that cute rainbow and thought the placement where I put it worked out.”

Why Mary loves “SHHH” by MommaTrish: “Such a sweet and creative layout! I really love how she used the clouds and tucked the photos and stars behind some of the clouds. The night sky she created in the back with the moon and scattered stars is beautiful too! I love how well her pictures matches everything too.”

Why Dalis is proud of this layout: “I love the depth I was able to create with all the layers in my cluster. A heavy cluster like this needs to have some highs and lows and that is all done with a play of the shadows. This page original intent was not this look at all, this was supposed to be a two picture page and ended up being more of an art journal. Apparently, my heart needed to express itself.”

Why Dalis loves “Quiet” by caapmun: “I admire the blending on this page so much, it is flawless. I can’t tell where the photo begins and ends. I am not sure if there is one paper blended or a dozen, but it doesn’t matter because the page is so cohesive, so well thought. The finishing touches with the embellishments, paints and textures added just ground this amazing page.”

Why Jaye is proud of this layout: “I loved the black and white papers and knew I had to use them. I love how the pop of colour made the B&W photo of me stand out but not too much. I find it is a simple page but love how the linear cluster came together.”

Why Jaye loves “Small Things” by Josie: “The big beautiful picture and the pop of red in the ladybug to draw you in. How she incorporated the ladybug to get the message of her quote across. While the elements are minimal, they suit the page to a t all tied together with the stitching.”

Why Kiana is proud of this layout: “I love my shadowing on this one. Period. lol”

Why Kiana loves “Rainbow Bridge” by tammybean04: “I love Tammy’s style and most of the time her pages about her boys, but being friends with her on FB I read about her family member and I’m so thankful that she has this outlet to scrap about the life they shared with their pup. I love the heartfelt words and photos here and know how hard it is to lose one of the pets we call family.”
