365 Days of Bliss – A Slight Dog Obsession & LOTW 17/10

Hey everyone! It’s Cindy here today :). I just wanted to share my sons slight dog obsession with you today. Well, actually it is not really a slight obsession, but a major obsession LOL. I’m not sure when it started, but we used to have a Jack Russell when he was little (who passed away in 2008) and he loved to play with her, hang around with her, throw her ball and hand feed her food to her one piece at a time (as you can see from the first photo below).

Maybe this was the beginning of it. Over time he slowly started collecting dog stuffies, or any “dog-like” stuffie. The middle photo above was taken a couple of years ago, but that dog stuffie collection has grown by at least 3 times. He has about 5-6 favorites though, the one in the third photo is probably number 3 on his list and is named Goldie. He sleeps with them every night and can often be seen carrying one of them or have one near by him every day. In March we had the pleasure of dog sitting our friends Jack Russel named Riley (middle photo below). Curtis stayed by his side the whole time he was here, constantly petting him, loving him, playing with him….the dog was GREAT with kids, but we finally had to tell Curtis to give the poor dog a break and let him rest, who knew a Jack Russel could actually be worn out?! Unfortunately Riley passed away in the spring from a pancreatic infection, and it brought a lot of tears to Curtis and Ashley, as they were quite attached to the dog and were able to visit him a lot during the time our friends had him.

The last photo above is his latest addition to his stuffie collection (yes it is a wolf, but it is close enough to a dog for Curtis), we visited the gift shop at the zoo, and he did not want to leave without it! I swear, for probably the last year and a half at least once a day he asks “when can we get a dog?” We keep telling him someday when the time is right.

So where am I going with this? Well, we have finally decided that the time is right, and we have decided to make an addition to the family! She is a female Jack Russell……we visited her at the end of September and will be seeing her again this weekend. If the vet check and everything goes well….we get to bring her home the first week of November!

Isn’t she cute?!? We just love Jack Russells, they are so much fun….yes they are high energy (perfect for Curtis), but they are also very cuddly, playful and just fun dogs. The kids are soooo excited, as are Brad and I!

Now, onto layout of the week! I came across this layout in the gallery over the weekend and was completely amazed. It is called Life as a Board Game by HeatherB

I just love Heather’s gallery, she is so amazingly creative and every page of hers is so unique. Congrats Heather, I will be pm’ing you a coupon shortly!
Have a great week everyone!! 🙂
