Happy Friday Sweet Shoppers! I hope you had an amazing week! Only 6 more weeks til the end of the year, can you believe it? I’m excited for all the memories to be made from now til the end of the year.
Today I get to introduce you to our newest Featured Designer, Allie of Lliella Designs. Allie’s store is full of amazing kits and CU items that always seem to have a magical, ethereal feel while also being so versatile for every day memory keeping. That’s a tall order to fill and Allie does it seamlessly!! She’s been at Sweet Shoppe Designs for so long and she’s a must-need staple in the store.
Allie’s edition of our Adventure X series of Featured Designer kit freebies is Pumpkin Patch Adventure. This kit is so cute and perfect for your pictures of going to a pumpkin patch, but also for carving pumpkins, baking pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice and anything to do with fall and pumpkins. It is so adorable – I love the eyes on the pumpkins! This kit is FREE with your $10 purchase from now until the new releases go live on Nov. 28th.

This kit coordinates with Allie’s Spooky Vibes and Rosettes bundle, which you can find here:

And now to learn more about Allie!
Tell us about your journey with digital scrapbooking… How did you find out about it? Did you start with paper first? How did you get started designing? Where was your first shop? How and when did you end up at Sweet Shoppe Designs?
I had just given birth to my first child in April 2007, I was usually at a baby forum as I had a lot of questions and insecurities being a first-time mom (especially after 2 miscarriages). There I first got to know The Digichick, as one of the moms there was a designer. I discovered a site with lots of freebies (submitted by anyone) so I started creating my own. I had knowledge of Coreldraw, but I was just learning Photoshop (the jaggies were unbelievable). I have always been artistically inclined and graduated Fine Arts, but we use our hands to draw – I mostly taught myself photoshop. By the end of the year, I started selling at Art&Scrap, Scrapladies and ScrapScandiStyle (I had to dig my old emails for these stores as I had completely forgotten the names). I quit these stores by mid 2008, then I sold at Funky Playground Designs and then later at Sunshine Studio Scraps.
By 2009, I was ready to give birth to my second child. I was thinking of quitting as I would have my hands full, as there was so much work selling at multiple stores. Then thought to myself, “I would only go exclusive if I can sell at Sweet Shoppe Designs.” Well, about a month after I gave birth to my daughter, I received a very unexpected email from Robin, inviting me to join Sweet Shoppe Designs! I was over the moon! I debuted in May 2009, I think. Hard to believe I have been at SSD for 15 years now!
What comes first when designing… theme or color palette?
I usually start by thinking of the theme. Then I look for inspiration on Google or Pinterest. Then after I do all the graphics, that’s the time I will come up with a palette.
How long does it take you to put a collection together from start to finish?
My gosh, I have a few kits that took months to finish. Especially now that huge collections are a thing. Enchanted Forest is one of them. Started as a Spring kit and finished with Enchanted Woods, an Autumn kit haha. But usually 2-3 weeks. I really need to manage my time more and procrastinate less.
Are there any adventures you’d like to go on in the future?
I’d like to travel more and explore new places while I still can. I don’t want to wait till everything hurts to do it.
Given the choice, would you pick an indoor or outdoor adventure?
I would pick outdoor adventure most of the time. I love the beach, waterfalls, amusement parks, etc.
What is your current desktop or cell phone wallpaper? Why did you choose that image?
I have a sumikko gurashi wallpaper on my ipad. They are just too cute!
If you could go on a date but only had $25 to spend, where would you go?
I would be perfectly happy to just chill on a park bench and look at people walking by and having great conversations and eating street food.
I had to go look up what a sumikko gurashi was – they are seriously so cute!! Just like these great pages from the SugarBabes using Allie’s Featured Designer kit

That’s it for today – come back next week to see which 15 products Allie has chosen for her Featured Designer 15 sale that starts November 26th. Until then, keep on scrapping!
