Friday Featured Scrapper – Ingrid Fasquelle

Happy Black Friday Sweet Shoppers!! For those that celebrated, I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving yesterday. I know I’m still recovering from all of the yummy food I ate!!  It’s hard to believe this is the last Friday in November – before you know it, Christmas will be here!! Well today I have an amazing and sweet scrapper to show off to you – Ingrid Fasquelle. She has an incredible gallery filled with lots of bright colors, perfectly embellished layouts, amazing titlework and an absolutely adorable little boy!!

Here’s a bit more about Ingrid:

I live in France with my husband of 6 years. We are the proud parents to a very busy 3 1/2 year old, Arthur, who is also my main source of inspiration. I’ve never been a paper scrapper before and stumbled upon digital in 2006. It didn’t take long before I got hooked! I downloaded a few freebies on the internet, made a few pages and BAM! I’ve not stopped creating since!! Scrapping is my true passion and provides me an outlet for my creativity. I love searching for new kits, matching everything and writing about a special memory. I’m a full time scrapper, but when I’m not at the computer you can find me spending time with my family, watching movies, cooking, reading  or experimenting with my Canon Rebel. Photography became my other passion quickly after I found out I had an addiction to scrapbooking. Although I’m far from being an expert, I never miss a chance to practice and try hard to improve my skills! Photography has lots of secrets I still have yet to discover!! I started scrapbooking with Microsoft Photo Pro 10 but later upgraded to Photoshop CS2 which is what I’m currently using to create my layouts and run photo actions. My laptop is an old Sony Vaio which I wouldn’t trade for anything else because it’s screen is just awesome for colors and contrast!!

Could you describe your scrapping environment?

I’m lucky to have a huge scraproom which is actually a vacant room of my apartment. I share it with my son who has his craft desk next to mine, and with my husband who has his own PC for his video games. I also have a small amount of ribbons and buttons for whenever I want to dabble in hybrid! I also love creating cards, boxes, calendars, etc. and embellishing them with “real” supplies!

Are you a fast or slow scrapper?

Ah!! I’m a slow scrapper probably because I’m very much a perfectionist!! I can spend countless hours sitting at the PC just looking for the perfect papers to match my photos, trying to find unique color combinations and changing everything up to the very end!! I never know how how many hours it will take to complete a page and how the final result will look. It’s always kind of a surprise and I like that!!

What is your favorite color scheme to work with?

I don’t think I have any favorite color scheme to work with. As a mom of a very energetic little boy I should probably be more confident with bold colors or boyish kits but I’m not against using pink and all other soft colors to scrap a boyish page! I love when kits are versatile and I never miss a chance of taking advantage of that!

What is the most challenging part of creating a page?

With me everything has to be matchy-matchy so the whole creating process is a challenge!! Coming up with the composition is probably the most challenging part. I usually solve my problem by whipping out a template from my scrapping stash! Of course, Cindy’s are my favorites – I’ve got all of her templates and always anxiously await her next release!!

I’ve asked Ingird to share three of her favorite layouts and a little about why she loves them.

My favorite layouts change all of the time, but this one is my all time favorite because of the precious picture of my son and my dear Grandma. She passed away in 2009 and I’m really thankful I have this priceless picture to remember her and all of the sweet moments we shared.

I’d say this one is a favorite because of the bold colors and the shadows, but mostly because I’m reminded of the good times we had during our family vacation!!

This one is a total scraplift of a layout by Aggie Aviso, but I had to pick it because the last page I made is always my favorite!!
