Where do you call home?

I live on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the heat is constant. We experience cool breezes in the late afternoons and breathtaking sunsets.

Tell us a little about your family…

I have a very atypical family, I recently moved back in with my parents due to their health and I felt a responsibility to be closer to help them. Since my brother has ASD and its limitations, they really needed me around. And I discovered that I was also missing having them around.

When did you join Sweet Shoppe Designs & what’s your favorite thing about being a member of the team?

I joined now in 2024, but I have admired the store for years. What I like most here is that all the designers are really a team and they are all willing to help each other.

How long have you been designing?

I entered the world of digital scrapbooking years ago and it was love at first sight, but I stayed away for about 10 years and improved in other areas of design. Last year, because of all the changes I needed to go through and because of my health, I decided to go back to doing something that I really enjoy, which is creating.

What inspires you?

Everything inspires me, from the colors of the flowers to the birds singing in my backyard. But of course, when I’m creating, I love going on Pinterest and seeing what’s new so I can bring a little more life and reality to my products, even though they’re digital pages.

Tell us a little bit about your design process…

I always start by searching for colors, and after a long process, I think of a name and the theme I want for my collection. Then, I research craft pages to see if I can recreate real elements in my Photoshop. I admit that I spend hours creating my papers and adding various textures to make them more realistic.

What is something we may not know about you?

I love learning, and I’m fascinated by crafts. My mother is a patchwork teacher, and I always stop by her studio looking for new elements that I can use in my products. Last year, I discovered that I have ADHD, so I was having anxiety attacks. However, after a period of treatment and many adaptations, I am learning to deal with my racing mind that overflows with ideas. Before, it left me exhausted, but now I am slowly finding my balance to have a healthier routine.
