Babewatch: Dixi

Hey everyone!  This is my first time on the blog and I am so excited that I get to share a little about myself and my Sugarbabe experience.  I guess it all started back in April when I saw the call go out for new babes.  I knew it would be a long shot as each one of the Sweet Shoppe designers have HUGE followings and who wouldn’t want to work with them all!!!  But I applied, and I have to admit that I checked my email continuously when the call came to a close.  I also checked the Sweet Shoppe Forums to see if the BIG NEWS would be released there.  Well finally I saw Robin post that they had chosen 4 people instead of 3, and that 3 of them had applied before.  It was my first time applying so I thought…it’s definitely not me…I’ll try again next time.  Then I get an email from Robin…..and it was an invite!!!  I was soooo excited and still am!  I can not express enough how much fun it is to work with everyone here!  This has been a dream gig.  Everyone is so supportive!  We truly have an amazing staff here at Sweet Shoppe Designs and I am proud to wear my Sugarbabe blinkie.  If you ever get the chance to apply for a babe position don’t even think twice about it.

Ok so now onto more of myself.  Well, I am a stay at home mom of two girls (Lauren and Cheyanne) and wife to Mike for 4 years.  I stumbled across digi-scrapping after I bought Autumn Leaves Designing with Digital book.  I tried the paper route and have to admit I have a HUGE stash of paper supplies that sit untouched.  I am saving them because I think eventually I might get good enough to attempt Hybrid.  What inspires me most are my two girls.  I usually start off scrapping with a picture and then figure out everything from there.  But sometimes it’s fun to just throw things on a page and add the photos last.  My style is definitely eclectic.  Sometimes I like to keep it simple and sometimes my pages are buried with elements.  In any case….I absolutely love scrapping, it is my artistic outlet, my legacy to leave my children and my stress reliever.

So I know you have all seen the wonderful things that go into the shop weekly.  Aren’t you totally amazed by the designers here….I am!!  I love the Sweet Rewards for all the awesome Sweet Shoppe Challenges .  The challenges really help me scrap so many themes I never thought of.  Lately the new Pop Rocks challenge is really inspiring me.  This weeks challenge was to scrap your childs favorite TV show.  Well my girls love Dora the Explorer so that’s what I chose to scrap about.  Here’s my page using Miriam Lima and Gina Miller’s collab kit Dreamer, and Fee Jardine’s Fizz Tizz Potpourri.

Extras: Holly McCaig Flourishes (covered with Dreamer collab paper) and Nancy Comelab’s Realistic Photo Frame.
