From Our Blog 2 Yours
Good Friday morning, Sweeties! Libby here with this week’s Friday blog challenge! I know some of you are chomping at the bit waiting to get this last point before our big drawing this month! You guys have ROCKED the challenges, and I’m COMPLETELY impressed. You guys are amazing!
I found this little prompt while I was doing a google search trying to decide on a topic for today’s post. This seemed so appropriate considering how I’ve spent my last 2 weeks. Around here, the flu is going around like crazy, and just about everyone is sick with *something*. So, let’s talk about how you cope with being sick.
Personally, I am one who won’t go to the doctor, and I won’t stay home from work. Don’t get me wrong, I *want* to stay home, but it’s frowned upon in my office. So, I go in regardless.
Enough about me though. Here are the questions for you to answer-
1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else?
2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad?
3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why? Do you go to the doctor willingly?
4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter?
5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school?
Just as a reminder, here’s how it works. Simply post on your own blog answering these prompts, and then post a comment here with a link back to your blog to earn a Sweet Rewards Point!

I honestly don’t get sick very often, whch is a great thing cause I am a diabetic! So I usually get sick once a year or so, and I am the sort of person who waits till I am literally coughing up a lung! or so super sick that I can’t function before I go to the doc!!! Silly I know!! And most of the time after that, its always antibiotics that help get me better!!!
As for keeping my self from getting sick, I try to eat a balanced diet! And stay away from sick people!!!

I don’t get sick to often. Just usually during allergy season. I have no problem staying home if I am sick enough.I usually will try to treat it at home first but will not let it get to bad before I go to the Dr. I have already traveled that road before and refuse to go back.My favorite thing to do at home is sleep if I am feeling bad enough or scrap if I am not to tired. I must ssay though that I am a big baby when I am sick and really love to be taken care of. I guess I am kindof a wimp when it comes to being sick!

i don’t get sick too often but when I do, I’m a big baby. I stay in bed and want to be cared for. this is a throw back from when I was a kid. My mom would tuck us into bed for the day and then nurse us all day bringing everything we needed to the bed including soup, medicine and drink.

1. Colds are part of my life every time a change of season occurs.
2. I stay at home, since I’d hate to infect others. I have a laptop so I can work even when I’m stuck in bed.
3. I take vitamin Cs and try as hard as I can to avoid doctors.
4. No matter what I do, I get sick in winter :o(
5. Lie in bed with a good book and a mug of coffee.

1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else? I’m usually sick for about a month straight in December/January with a bad cold.
2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad? Well, I would go to work but my boss is a total germaphobe and we’re not allowed to go to work when we even have a slight sniffle…
3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why? Do you go to the doctor willingly? Airborn, Vitamin C, lots of juice and water. Warm salt water gargles if it’s a sore throat. I only go to the doctor if there’s a high fever or it lasts more than 4 days.
4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter? Try to stay away from others that are sick, keep my hands clean, etc. Unfortunately I have 2 little germ carriers that live with me so it’s almost impossible!
5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school? Watch tv and surf then net (when I’m not sleeping)!

1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else? Knock on wood, I haven’t been sick with a “true” cold or flu or sinus infection in a long time….before I was eating better and getting more exercise and letting stress get the better of me, though….wow, I was in the doctor’s office all the time getting prescriptions!
2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad? I’m definitely willing to stay at home, no sense in getting other people sick too.
3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why? Do you go to the doctor willingly? I treat a cold by stocking up on my favorite soups and vegging in front of the TV with my favorite shows/movies…rarely go to the doctor for a cold, but since they usually turn into sinus infections, I have to eventually.
4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter? Eat a healthy (if possible) diet with lots of vitamin c, fruits, veggies and get some exercise and de-stressing activities in!
5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school? Hmmm…..I think I’ll have to go with- SCRAP!

1. Normally, I get sick once a year and then that’s it…this year, we have been hit hard, I am currently sick for the fourth time! 1st three were stomach flu–YUCK! This time it’s a cold/sinus thing.
2. I don’t work outside the home…I am a SAHM…so I do try to stay home during my “infectious” period so as not to iunfect my friends and their kids!
3. I don’t usually go to the Dr….it’s such a hassle and 90% of the time they say it’s a virus and there’s nothing they can give me anyway. o, I try to go to bed earlier than usual and take Aprodine or Mucinex and alternate between Excedrin, Tylenol and Ibuprofen.
4. To keep from getting sick…good hand washing.
5. Favorite thing to do when I am sick…watch Lifetime Movies or Law and Order.

I don’t get sick very often, just maybe a cold or two during the winter. When I am sick I do not have a problem staying home and taking care of myself. I don’t usually go to the doctor unless I just keep getting worse. I usually just drinks lots of fluid and have soup to eat. When I am home and not feeling well I like to either scrap or read and if I feel really bad just watch some good movies.

1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else?
I usually get the flu once a year and one good sinus infection about every summer.
2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad?
I get up and go if at all possible.
3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why? Do you go to the doctor willingly?
I like that icky Alka Seltzer cold relief. It is so horrible that it must work.
4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter?
I take my vitamins and try to get extra rest when bugs are going around.
5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school?
My favorite thing to do when I am sick is to camp out on the couch with the remote and a pile of good dvds.
