From Our Blog to Yours 7.17.08

Greetings, scrappers! Mimi here with a new FOB2Y. It’s full-on summertime here, which for some reason got me to thinking about the summer jobs I had as a teenager. One summer I picked strawberries with my sister at a nearby farm. It was hot, boring work. Another summer I had a job filing in a doctor’s office. I managed to lock one of the filing cabinets: the only cabinet without a lock, of course. It had to be drilled open; I was pretty mortified about that. Fortunately, I was not fired. And yet another summer I volunteered at a hospital snack shop, spilling coffee into cups and frying up grilled cheese sandwiches. My summer jobs weren’t the most exciting experiences but they did keep me from becoming too bored over the summer since I lived in a small town and didn’t have many friends.

So your mission is to blog about the summer jobs (or adventures, if you didn’t work) you had when you were a teenager.
