LOTW and Gallery Standouts

Hey Sweet Shoppers, I hope you all had a safe and happy Easter spending time with your friends and family and munching up the chocolate and candy filled calories. I have a doozy of a double post for you this week to showcase the Layout of the Week as well as some Supa Sweet Standout Scraps from the gallery.
Ill start with the Layout of the Week since you’ve possibly been waiting longer than you should have (unless of course you’ve been out socialising, eating and drinking!) Ive spent quite a while in the gallery today and for some reason I keep going back to this layout titled What Do You See? by Ashlie (aka DownHome).
Maybe its the photo capture since Ashlie sure knows how to work the lens – I think its a little more than that though – Its the simplicity of design, the mood set by the wonderful title work and the boy inspired colour scheme from Libby’s Do You Believe in Magic kit. Really I think its the amazing combination of all of these things that made this Layout a winner in my books. Congrats Ashlie – I’ll be gifting you shortly with a PM and the details of how to collect your prize.

Now its time for my standout selections.

Paula did this fabulous layout titled April 13, 2009 using Melissa’s Blue and White Kit for the Scrap Your Day challenge. Its a perfect way to make an extroadinary memory keepsake from some very ordinary (at least to most of us) everyday moments. I think the screen captures are a super way of capturing her online activities and I love the almost overflowing laundry basket taking centre stage – oh how we can all relate to these priorities!!

The next little beauty is from the halls of our hybrid gallery. Amber put this Gear Album together a while back and forgot to post it in the gallery. Hopefully this might give her a little more incentive to share her wonderful creations with us in the future. The vivid colours and funky patterns and shapes have made this such a treasure. Its so beautifully tied together with a perfect selection of ribbons.

This next layout titled Twins Fan was created using inspiration from our April TOTM Peppermint’s Gallery by Amy (aka Clearskies). It showcases Libby’s Kit – Theres no Crying in Baseball to perfection and sports the adorable fase of one very cute baseball fan!

The final layout I want to share with you from this past weeks gallery of gorgeousness was created for the Scrap With the Sugar Babes prompt calling for an “All About Me” page. Vanessa (aka nesser1981) created this colourful page about “Me” (or what makes Vanessa, Vanessa)!! I really loved the use of elements here especially the doodles adorning the background paper. The funky colour scheme was selected from Girls Rule Boys Drool by Lauren, Manda and Shawna and its quite eyecatching. The journalling is informative yet casual and concise! It was great to learn a little more about Vanessa through her vibrant layout!

The creators of the above four layouts will be gaining an additional sweet reward point for April so congrats to you all ladies and thanks for helping me add all of this extra sugar to the blog this week!
