Friday Featured Scrapper – Stephanie (nanienamou)

Happy December Sweet Shoppers! I hope the holiday preparations are treating you well and you are finding a little time to scrap this month!  Today I bring to you another Friday Featured Scrapper.  This week, we are featuring Stephanie Dubois {nanienamou}.  You can check out her SSD gallery here or her MSA gallery here.

Stephanie is a mother to three little boys (6, 4 and almost 3) and married with Eric since 2008.  They were high school sweethearts and have been together since November 2007. The Dubois are French speaking Canadians, living in Quebec, right next to Ottawa.

Stephanie has been scrapping in 12X12 since Fall 2008. She posted her first pages in galleries in March 2009. Stephanie calls Sweet Shoppe Designs her  “digi-home”.  Before that, she had made some calendars as presents.  Stephanie has always used Photoshop to scrap and right now has PSCS5 and scraps on a 27 inch I-Mac since last summer.

I asked Stephanie to share with us her 3 favorite layouts and why:

“I love this LO because I really scrapped out of my usual style. I love that extraction and the balloons seem to fly off with the frame! lol!”

“I love this picture of me wearing my middle son at a New Year’s Eve Party. He even slept while I danced. Traci’s kit was perfect for this pic and I love the blocking design.”

“Again, I just loved these pics, my youngest was laughing and he was so cute! I just loved the colour swatch of this KCB kit.”

To get to know Stephanie a bit better, I asked her a few other questions.

Q. What is your favorite SSD kit and why?

That is a though question! I rarely use a kit more than once. I used Dani’s Funland kit with Jacque Larsen for three layouts.  I really liked that kit, too bad it’s retired. Another kit that I absolutely love is Alphabet Soup For Boys, by Zoe Pearn.  It has such cute little brads and the animals are just gorgeous!

Q.  What is one little known fact about you?

I’m a stay at home mom for the most part, but I’m also a trained doula and a breastfeeding monitor. I’m so lucky to help women and seeing little babies come into this world. I really cherish those moments.

Q. Tell us about your scrapping “style” if you have one.

I’m not sure I have a scrapping style.  First of all, I’m addicted to templates, and Cindy’s are the best. I love not worrying about photo placement and concentrating on embellishing the page and picking papers. I also love color. No neutral for me!  Patterned paper is also a must for me. I’m not happy with solids! lol!

Q. What gets your mojo going?

A good color swatch will always inspire me. I love to browse at fabrics, too. Great templates make me eager to scrap.  And of course, new pics are always a great source of inspiration.

Blog Bonus Challenge #2 – Using Stephanie’s gallery and pages as inspiration, your challenge this week is to create a layout where the title is large and uses 2 different alphas.

Here is what the Babes came up with!

Here’s Shannon’s layout using Dani’s A Lot Like Christmas:

Here is Nikki’s layout using Santa’s Bake Shoppe by Misty & Julie:

Dana:

Erin’s Layout:

And my layout using a template from Inspired by Laci by Darcy Baldwin and Thankful for you by Jen Barrett and Zoe Pearn.

Remember that this challenge needs to be completed and uploaded to the SSD gallery by the 31st of December!  Happy scrapping and happy holidays!
