365 Days Of Bliss: Little Details

Hi everyone! This is Jacq writing today’s post for 365 days of bliss. Today I’m going to share with you what I made for my baby girl’s christening last month. I’m really glad I was a scrapbooker even before I had kids, it helped because I was able to document  their growth, milestones and everything else about them and our day to day life as a family. Being a scrapbooker also helped in preparing for events like birthdays, Christmas and now my daughter’s christening. We kept her everything low key and simple for her special day. After the baptism ceremony we had a simple celebration at home with our close friends. I knew I wanted to add little details that would make the occasion extra special. So I made a few things here and there and I was quite happy with how everything turned out.

From left to right (top)Party Favors and Christening candles for parents and godparents,  (middle) Christening dress detail, welcome banner and invitation, (bottom) Guestbook and headband detail.

I made one of the party favors using Baby Shoes by Heather Roselli. It was easy to make, you just need ample time as cutting each piece takes a while. I used the template and choose the paper and elements I want for the shoes and glued everything together. I placed sweets inside the shoes and displayed them using a cupcake stand. Our guests loved them and thought they were unique. For the candles I just used ribbons and fasteners to dress up plain white candles. I then put the finished candles on a basket so it would look more presentable.

The dress I bought on sale so it was a steal plus I thought the detail was really pretty. The welcome banner and the invitation I designed myself but I only printed the invitations at home.

For the guestbook I turned a photo album into a guestbook by printing my finished layouts in 6×6 size and adhering them to the pages, cheap and easy to do. Lastly, the headband our baby wore to church I got from Etsy.

Thanks for letting me share my bliss, I really enjoyed making these projects.
