365 Days of Bliss – A Week without Children
TGIF! It’s Stephanie here bringing you this Friday’s post.
This past week marked the start of a new tradition in our household. A week Up North with Gramma & Pappa. Just the kids (my girls and my nephew). No PARENTS ALLOWED.
When the girls left last Friday morning – there was a Bittersweet feeling in my heart. I was happy to see them go and glad for the break, but I miss them so much it hurts.
This bittersweet feeling still lingers and probably will not subside until I see my girls and give them a big hug and kiss.
It’s like a piece of my heart is missing. Not ripped out or anything, just missing.
I do have to say that my husband & I have enjoyed our break without the girls. We did adult things – we toured a winery. We headed to the State Fair. We went and saw Horrible Bosses. We ate cheese for dinner and sometimes skipped meals altogether. There was a total lack of responsibility on our parts. We could do what we wanted, when we wanted.I even scrapped a page of our Date week.
I am sure the girls had a great time. For them – Up North is like the Wild West! ESPECIALLY with Gramma & Pappa. Trips to the candy store, bike rides, swimming, jumping, frogging, exploring and just being kids. I can only imagine when the last time they took a bath or brushed their teeth let alone drank a glass of milk or ate a piece of fruit.
Gosh I miss them!
I’m off to call the girls. To see when they are heading home. Do you think balloons and a banner is a bit much with welcoming them home?
