365 Days of Bliss – Minnie Lovin’

Hi everyone this is Jacq bringing you today’s 365 days of bliss post. I’m currently planning my eldest daughter’s fifth birthday party which is about two months away, it would be a simple party at school with just cake and goodie bags for her classmates but still I want it to be special so I’m going with a theme like a usually do. I actually like planning birthday parties, I like all small details that goes into it. Anyway as I was browsing online for bakeshop that has the cake I was looking for it made me think of my little girl’s favorite cartoon characters. Now that she’s five she can pretty much tell me what she likes for her birthday, I do not call all the shots now and since it’s her special day not mine I try to accomodate her requests if I can. I’m sure all kids go through phases when they have a particular favorite character at a certain age. These were/are my daughter’s favorite characters…
Barney – Almost every child I’ve known had this purple dinosaur as their first favorite and my daughter is no exception. When she was one year old we would sing and dance to Barney songs several times a day, I hear it too much I sometimes sing the song even if my daughter was no where in sight (lol).
Dora the Explorer – It must be the spanish words or the backpack that drew her to this lil explorer. One Christmas we had the Christmas Carol dvd on repeat as we prepare for dinner, wrapping Christmas presents, decorating the Christmas tree and other activities around the house…she was in the background.
Angelina Ballerina – My daughter loves to dance, she really wanted to learn ballet so she’s been attending classes once a week for a quite a while now. She also loves the color pink, seeing a cute mouse who loves ballet wearing pink tutu…she’s in love! She doesn’t watch the show on Playhouse Disney often but when she does she squeals in delight.

There’s more that she liked at one point but it quickly faded so I won’t mention them anymore. I would however highlight one particular cartoon character, hands down she’s her most FAVORITE and has been for years. I’m sure my post title gave it away, yes it is Minnie Mouse. My gosh she adored her so much and she has a lot of Minnie Mouse related items to prove it.

She carried her Minnie Mouse plushie everywhere that year, I think that was back in 2009 and she was quite happy to have a friendly companion wherever we go.

When we went to Tokyo Disneyland last year she got to meet Minnie Mouse in person wearing different costumes, she was so happy. When we were having dinner at Chef Mickey and she spotted her nearby she kept cranning her neck trying to get a good look at her. She couldn’t concentrate on eating eventhough I told her she will come to our table for pictures.

Now at almost five years old I think she’s starting to branch out and move on to another character (I’m thinkinb Barbie) but I’m sure she won’t forget about good ol’ Minnie Mouse.
