Hi everyone, this is Andrea from England. Can you believe that it is almost December?? This is my favourite time of year, I love Christmas but I love the whole countdown to Christmas best of all. Decorating the house, baking Christmas goodies, shopping for and wrapping parcels. I teach in a Special School for young children so Christmas is always a really special time for us, we have our Christmas production and Nativity, Christmas parties, Santa visits and of course all of these exciting events help us on our Countdown to Christmas and you can’t have a countdown to Christmas without an Advent Calendar!

A couple of years ago I made this baking sheet advent calendar with magnetic numbers which I use every year to countdown to the big day

It is starting to look a little used and worn around the edges now so I’ve started to look around for ideas for a new Advent Calendar that I can make for next year.

As you can see not all the ideas were for Christmas but I thought they could be easily adapted and I’m thinking of making a few Countdown Calendars for next year for important occasions – like my Birthday 🙂
