Hey Sweet Shoppers! Nikki here with today’s post. It’s been a big week for a certain 6 year old in our house. New glasses! When we went for Avery’s 6 year old checkup a few weeks ago he didn’t do so well on the vision screening. I had suspected that he might be having trouble seeing well, so I promptly made him an appointment for an eye exam. I had promised him that the eye doctor wasn’t like the regular doctor..there was no chance he was going to have to get a shot. I totally forgot that they would probably need to dilate his eyes. The crying and wailing that ensued wasn’t fun and when we went back to the waiting room to wait for the drops to work, I had to deal with a very angry little boy. “You told me it wasn’t like the REAL doctor Mom. I think you lied!” Now normally I would have not allowed him to talk to me that way..but he had a point..I DID promise him. 🙂

After he settled back down and his pupils were as big as saucers, the doctor finished the exam and confirmed that Avery did indeed need glasses..in fact he needed them pretty badly and I of course felt a little guilty that I had not realized until now. But we got it taken care of and headed off to pick out his new frames. We tried on many frames, but I kept going back to a certain pair that he looked just adorable in and so finally those were the ones we chose. About a week later we got the call to go pick them up. They are pretty strong so the first day or so he had a little trouble getting used to them and his depth perception was a off..which could be quite funny to watch. But like most things with kids he adapted very quickly and now he’s completely used to wearing them already. I still catch myself being totally taken away by how adorable he is in them and of course the mamarazzi photos have ensued…
