Finding Joy

Hey there Sweet Shoppers!! Laurie here today and I’d like to talk about finding joy and gratitude. I know the idea of a gratitude journal isn’t new, but I’ve never done it before. Last year I was introduced to the book 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp. What an amazing book this is!! I follow her blog and saw a post about taking the Joy Dare – to count 1,000 gifts in 2012. In this world we live in, it’s so easy to get down about things and really focus on the negative, even in the midst of lots of positivity. When you’re looking for the good in everyday life, it makes it harder to focus on the negative. I’ve decided to keep a notebook and record 3 things a day that I’m grateful for or that I found joy in. There is actually a list you can print out that has daily ideas or you can do it on your own. You can find it here in this post. For instance, one day you can write down 3 things you hear that bring you joy, another day you can write down gifts that made you laugh, or gifts that made you quiet, a song heard, a person. Anything. That’s the beauty of this is you can find joy in anything. This monthly printable can help jumpstart ideas. Anyone else plan on counting their blessings this year? I can’t wait to see the difference this makes in my life!! Here’s a layout I did highlighting my first seven days of joy.
