Confessions of a Disneyland Addict

Hi it’s me, Darla and I am a Disneyland Addict and the first step towards recovery is admission! lol – ok I know I won’t give up my love for the Southern California amusement park! I have been in love with the park ever since I was a little girl. I remember the little ticket books you needed when you want to ride something. The book looked something like this:

My favorite ticket was the “E” one because you could ride the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean and well, the “A” ticket was for the carriages on Main Street or King Arthur’s Carousel – rides I was ok if I didn’t get on. As I grew up, Disneyland was something I would visit here and there but it wasn’t until a few years ago that our family decided to purchase passes, that the love I had for the “Happiest Place On Earth” came back in full force!

Suddenly I could visit when I wanted to and if the park was too crowded, we could simply leave and come back another day. If my favorite ride had a long line, I would just resolve to get on it the next time I visited. I found myself reading about the “hidden Mickeys” you could find around the park and we downloaded the MouseWait app on our cell phones so that we could get tips about the park and of course, find out what that wait times were for our favorite rides. We would take pictures with our favorite characters and loved when the holidays came around, because the park would be decorated so beautifully. It is not unusual for us to suddenly decide to go to the park in the middle of the day or at the spur of the moment “just because.” I guess a person could get tired of the park but for me, my days are filled with work and school and the “have-to’s” in life that escaping to this amusement park just helps makes things seem a little less hectic! As you enter the park, you feel this sense of excitement stirring inside and suddenly a smile is on your face and you know what Walt Disney meant when he said “”To all that come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land.” Of course, since I am a scrapbooker, I never miss an opportunity to create a layout about my favorite amusement park:

One Magical Day

Family Vacation

Disney Smiles

So what is your favorite place to escape your everyday life????

  • omg! Gorgeous layout with the castle! I was only there once in 1964! Things have changed a LOT since then!

  • I’m a Disneyland fanatic as well!! We’ve had passes for the last 9 years (with a 6month gap) and I could go everyday. Even when it’s crowded, just sitting on Main Street and watching people go by is great! I also enjoy going without the kids…grown-up days at Disneyland are SO fun 😉 My daughter works at California Adventure now and she loves the magic of being a Cast Member! 🙂
