Baseball is Back!

Hi all! Stephanie here to bring you today’s post on America’s Pastime. BASEBALL! I just spent the entire weekend at the ballpark with my hubby, my friends and my girls and now I feel like I need a day off to recoup. 🙂

Growing up – I never was a huge baseball fan. My family was not into it. We loved sports – playing, not watching. I think I attended one or two Brewer games and maybe a Cubs game. {My mom’s side of the family are Cubs fans. How they can live with themselves, I don’t know! 🙂 } Enter in my husband. HUGE baseball fan. Always has been. Big Brewers and A’s fan growing up. Collection of baseball cards, pennants, photos – you name it. All of my baseball knowledge comes from him.

Friday felt like Christmas to me! I cannot tell you the last time I missed an Opening Day. It is something I look forward to every year. My girls do not attend with us – so we have 2 extra tickets and we invite friends along. We play bags (cornhole – whatever you want to call it), grill out, eat and celebrate the first Brewer game of the season.  Saturday was our game is our ticket package & it has been tradition the past 3 years to celebrate this game as the girls’ Opening Day. Festivities were slightly different and we grilled out, blew bubbles and let my girls decide what was played on the iPod. Sunday – we were back at it again tailgating in the parking lot and enjoying the game.  The Brewers ended up only winning one game out of the series against St. Louis, but we had fun.

As I think back on our weekend, I can’t help but think of all the memories made and to be scrapped. From the Bloody Mary’s that had so many garnishes in them that they looked epic to running into a local TV anchor and getting my photo taken with him. Ultimately it comes down to how much fun I had with my girls. The screams when J’s favorite hits a home run not once but TWICE in a game. The  joy on E’s face when she realized her Sausage – #5 the Chorizo won the race.

All this (and 100 more photos!) is why I scrap. This is why I preserve the memories. This is my life, my loves!  Go Brewers!
