New Designer Debut: Getting to know Rubia & Yari!
Hey Hey chickies! I’m back again this afternoon to introduce you to a couple more of our newest designers. All of us hope you are enjoying the scrumptious new goodies they added to the shoppe today and we really hope you like reading more about them too. So without further ado, here’s a bit of insight into Rubia and Yari…
Rubia Padilha
Who are you, where are you from, and who do you love?
Hi!! My name is Rúbia and I’m the “Studio Basic” girl. I am 33 years old, I’m married and I’m from a city in the South of Brazil.
I met my husband on the internet. After 5 months using Netmeeting, ICQ (I’m old hah) and 3 hour phone calls (at least lol) per day, we decided to live together and we’ve been married for almost 10 years. After meeting him, I came to live near from São Paulo, but, for me, there’s no place like Rio Grande do Sul.
I love to be with my family, who mostly lives away from here (almost 1200km) and friends. And chocolate. And series tv! Yes, I’m really addicted for series tv.
We don’t have childrens yet, but we have 2 nephews that are my love! And we are in the process to adopt a child and only the idea of having our son, makes me smile. 🙂
How long have you been designing?
I’m designing for almost 3 years! I started being only a CT with many ideas! And I always had a tip (or more) to the designers that I was CTM. After a time, I created a template freebie, and another, and another… and here I’m. 🙂
What’s the best thing about designing? The worst?
What I love most about designing is have different pages with different styles with my products, for sure. I love to see, for exemple, as one product may have two, three or more modes of use.
And the worst is don’t have time to do all products that I imagine in my head!
What excites you about the digital scrapbooking industry?
I really love how, in every page, you can always be inspired for something. Even when the page is “not your style”, you will see something that you will like and this will inspire you.
How do you feel about starting your journey here at Sweet Shoppe Designs? How do you hope to grow? What do you want to accomplish as part of our team?
Sweet Shoppe has name in this industry and, being honest, I’m feeling scared! hahahah But I’m also feeling happy! And excited!
I’m having a chance to be and do more! And I know me, I will do more! Because I like challenges. And be part of this great site is a personal challenge for me. And challenges make us grow, right? 🙂
About accomplish, I only can say that I will do my best to deserve this opportunity that these awesome girls gave me. 🙂
Describe your design style and what inspires you.
I know that I like to think “out of box”. I love when people says “love your products because they are different” and I really try to be different. And I try to always follow the question “this could be done in the real scrapbooking?”. If the answer is yes, I go for it!
And everything in everywhere inspires me. I’m always looking for some detail to inspire me. But the short answer is: life inspires me. 🙂
Yari Mower
Who are you, where are you from, and who do you love?
I am Yari Mower, born in the Dominican Republic, raised in New York City, and currently living in sunny Southern California. I love my family, my friends, my fellow designer friends, my customers, my creative team, and I can’t think of anyone that I don’t love. 🙂
How long have you been designing?
I have been designing since August of 2008 and I completely adore it. Love it!
What’s the best thing about designing? The worst?
The best thing is to be able to get all my ideas out into my work and to be able to see how people are able to use my designs to capture their memories. The worst part is how much time it takes to design.
What excites you about the digital scrapbooking industry?
How it is constantly evolving in trends, in creativity, is styles, in everything! There’s something for everyone in this industry. We are all so very different yet this is something that brings us all together, our common grounds. 🙂
How do you feel about starting your journey here at Sweet Shoppe Designs? How do you hope to grow? What do you want to accomplish as part of our team?
I could not be any more excited about being part of Sweet Shoppe Designs!! I have loved SSD for so long, it is my digi home and the shop that introduced me to digital scrapbooking way back in January of 2008. I have been a fan ever since! I hope to grow in my creativity, my style, my skills, and grow as a person while in this journey and just fully and thoroughly enjoy this amazing ride! I love SSD!!! As part of the team, I hope to accomplish everything that SSD stands for and more. I hope to go the extra mile, to go the distance, to grow as a creative person and designer and be able to continue offering my customers, and SSD’s customers, the best in quality and products to help them preserve their wonderful memories.
Describe your design style and what inspires you.
My design style is mostly themed, colorful, sometimes vintage or retro, sweet, trendy, and full of gorgeousness! What inspires me to create my designs is my experiences I have with my children, my family, and with my friends. These are the things that shape and affect me most in my life and what I cherish the most and I think that people feel the same way, so in my designs I tend to oblige to those things and experiences that are close to our hearts.
