Boo-tiful Decorating

Hello Sweet Shoppers, it’s Keely here today. In the states we’ve just entered the fall season. Where I live we’re still wearing shorts, high temps are in the 90’s and the leaves in the trees aren’t changing color unless they’re dying. However it does mean we’re getting close to Halloween, and I love Halloween. A couple weeks before we decorate, a few things here and there in the house and we’ll deck out the porch, sometimes the yard too.  I thought I’d share some Halloween decor things with you today, some I’ve done in the past, some I just like, some I can see being so easy for us scrappers.

Cheesecloth Ghosts   We hang cheesecloth ghosts in our trees. We fill white balloons and make faces on them with black Sharpies. We use clear fishing line and tie them around the “neck” and hang them up. We bought a big bag of white balloons from Party City and reuse the cheesecloth year after year. I thought these were cute too.

Upcycled Jar Luminaries  We made these as a family several years ago. We had a great time making them and they turned out so well. We used old salsa jars, pickle jars, even a couple baby food jars. (we may have gone overboard to be honest). We line ours up outside and get comments every year.  * we went with the all paint method

Glowing Slime This year I’m going to do this! Glow sticks are always cheap at the dollar store this time of year. Pour them out and get some spooky cool drippage.

Bat Garland  I live in the bat capital of the USA. (I’m not sure if that’s official but…) We like our bats around here. I think this is cute and she even offers up a free template to make your own. Sweet!

Leaf Ghosts and Carton Bats  I think my kids would have loved this one when they were younger. (maybe they still would) Little bits to hang here or there.

Spinning Poster Board Ghosts  I like them.

Keeping It Sweet Centerpiece  Because really candy corn should only be used as a decoration.
