Cake and Caramel and Cool Whip, OH MY!

Hey Sweet Shoppers!

Fall is finally here and that means it’s finally time again for baking!  I’m no master chef or anything, but I do love wasting time on Pinterest, finding new to us desserts!  When I saw this one, I knew it would be a family favorite!!!  Sadly, I didn’t count on my boys refusing to eat it, just because of the caramel in it!  Destiny devoured her piece and she doesn’t like caramel either.  She tried to tell the boys that you couldn’t taste it – but they didn’t believe her!  Oh well, more for us!  It’s actually been requested as my husband’s new “birthday cake”.  🙂

The blog that was linked to the image is gone, but the recipe had been pinned with it.  It was so good, I scraped the bottom of the pan and served it with the cake too!

There was no name with it, so let’s just call it The Dream Come True Cake, lol!

Bake a yellow cake, poke holes in it while still warm, pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over, then a jar of Smucker’s caramel ice cream topping. Cool, spread with Whipped Cream and sprinkle with crushed Butterfinger or Toffee.

I can’t be held responsible if you gain weight after eating half a cake because it’s.so.darn.good.

  • That sounds really good. My husband’s favorite cake is tres leches cake which involves pouring 3 different kinds of milk over a white cake. It’s a little soggy for me. I’m thinking this version with less milk and the addition of caramel and toffee would make for an amazing cake. I’ll have to try this one out. Thanks for the recipe!
