Before/After: Finding Text Inspiration

Natalie shows us how to bring inspiration from the web onto our layouts

Hey, everyone, it’s Natalie hoping to inspire you regarding text and title work. I love to go to non-scrappy Web sites in an effort to inspire something out of the box. A couple of years ago my mom bought a vinyl cutter. We had a lot of fun crafting wall art with fonts to decorate our homes. We would search all over the internet for inspiration. These were the sad days before Pinterest. There were so many people with their own little businesses. One of my very favorite I found is http://oldbarnrescue.com/. I love the look of different fonts together, longer sayings and the overall look of the quotes. I pulled some pictures off of the Web site to show everyone what I’m talking about.

All images are from OldBarnRescue.com (Fonts are not used, the text is hand drawn)

One day, after years of doing vinyl and digital scrapbooking, I realized I could try and blend the two worlds together. So, I took longer sayings, and blended a font with an alpha or two. The following layouts were inspired by this idea. They are some of my very favorite layouts.
