Another Featured Designer Friday is here Sweet Shoppers, and this week we’re  bringing you part two of Brook Magee’s super fun 4 in ’14 spotlight which shows off some of her scrappy faves! I have been loving the chance to get to know our designers a little better words and pictures and I hope you have been enjoying it too! Don’t forget between now and next Thursday, June 19th, you’ll get Berry Fine Day, an adorable kit from Brook absolutely FREE when you spend $10 in the shoppe!

If I could sum up my life in two words it would be: never alone. Haha. I homeschool my kids, and aside from their outside activities, I am rarely without them. If I am without them, I am with my husband on a date. And if I am without my kids AND my husband, I am with my mom (shopping!!!) who lives 20 minutes away… or my wonderful friends. And… I’m going to get spiritual here… if I am ever without any of those people, I have God. He is always with me. Never alone! 🙂

1- Me and my kiddos, Ben (7) and Grace (5)

2- Me and Grace enjoying the sun rise at our local beach.

3- One of my many jobs… hair brushing and blow drying (pretty much every night). I actually just chopped off 10 inches from Grace’s hair because this ‘job’ was not so lovely. LOL.

4- Me and my hunky husband (and his massive facial hair which he loves and refuses to shave… sigh).

I just love Pinterest! Not only is it a great place to find inspiration for new kits, I love that I can get a glimpse into what my friends are obsessed with. For example, my friends know I’m in the process of moving into a new house so I’ve been flooding their feeds with all of my house decor and backyard idea pins! Follow me on Pinterest!

1- When I saw this idea for adding some flair to boring wooden stairs I knew it was something I had to do in the staircase of our new split-level house. Pinned it!

2- I love everything about this room… the triangle print rug, the teal lamp, the hello pillow, the gray walls… I want to use this as inspiration for our living room. Pinned it!!!

3- I absolutely adore fresh, funky colors and patterns in home decor. Especially the fun pillows on the couch in this room. I’ve never been bold enough to actually do something so brave in my own house, but I swear this time I am going to do it! Pinned it!

4- My new entry way is almost exactly laid out like the one shown. I’m thinking some chevrons on the wall would be so fun! I also love the pops of yellow. Pinned it!

I love being on the designer side of scrapbooking… making a kit or a template and then seeing all of the ways my team and customers use them to honor their memories. It’s a beautiful thing! Here’s a small sample of my favorite pages by the Mageeks, my creative team. If you want to see more layouts check out my gallery at the Sweet Shoppe: https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=670

Am I the only one with a looong “gotta make this” list? I love making things! I adore the process of finding a great project, collecting all the supplies to make it, starting it… and then… not finishing it. Ah! I am so terrible at finishing projects, but I do occasionally follow through and when I do I am always satisfied with my efforts. I think handmade items hold so much more value than store-bought.

1- Chevron print with fabric on canvas! Um, yeah!!! This would be so fun. I adore quilts (you can see they are often the inspiration for my templates) and this project is right up my alley as I also have a fabric addiction, but hardly ever sew. 😉

2- Upcycled potholder rug.. what the what?! Gotta make this! This looks like it would be sooo fun and funky. And, a great excuse for combing the local thrift stores on a weekly basis.

3- Making a picture of my state in glitter. Woot! I love glitter. And I am a proud Florida girl. I adore this idea, especially since it seems so easy and quick. I could even print out one of my patterned paper designs as the background for a personal touch.

4- This mug! It’s perfect. Seems like it should be easy to make, too. 🙂
