This week we’re spotlighting one of Sweet Shoppe’s SugarBabes, Heddy!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be on the blog today!

I’ve been loving seeing all of the spotlighted Sweet Shoppe team and community members. I especially like putting a face to the names (and layouts). I took the photos above using my iPhone’s Incredibooth app. It’s awesome for people like me who blink whenever the shutter goes off because it takes four shots in a row. Theoretically, one of them has to turn out!

It was hard to pick four favourite layouts! Like a lot of scrappers, my favourite layouts are usually my most recent ones.

Pretty: If Cindy and Lauren did nothing but make doodled templates, I’d be a happy scrapper! I love how this page turned out!

Week 17: I love working with kits and turning them into pocket pages. The tight patterns on these papers worked especially well for using on journal cards.

Week 6: I LOVE the bright colours on this kit. The were so easy to work with for an “everyday” type of spread.

Week 9: I like how this spread turned out, despite not having a ton of photos. The journaling was here, there and everywhere and guides you around the page.

Pocket scrapbooking is my absolute favourite way to scrapbook! For my Products Pick, I chose pocket products that I would recommend for any new pocket scrapbookers and seasoned ones to keep in their stash.

365Unscripted: Plastic Stitched Grids Bundle by Traci Reed: I use these templates and plastic grids by Traci on 95% of my pocket pages. They are very realistic and I love how the pockets don’t diminish the photo colours in any way.

Pocket Scraps: Text Paths 1 by Misty Cato: These journal card templates make adding coordinated journalling to match any kit a breeze! Misty made them extra-user friendly by providing text-on-a-path for the journaling too.

Cindy’s Layered Cards: EVERYDAY 14 by Cindy Schneider: These layered art cards are amazing! Just clip papers and drag onto your pocket page — instant matching art! I picked pack 14, but check them all out. Cindy is a word art genius!

[Every Day] Pocket Doodles 1 by Lauren Grier: Doodles are an awesome addition to photos and pocket cards. I love the carefree and quirky style that Lauren has used for these doodles.

I’ve been on a health journey for the past five months and I’m currently down just over 30 lbs. I feel so much healthier and energetic. Here are a few of the tools in my weight management toolkit:

The Diet Fix: I read this book after I had been in weight loss mode for a few months. Everything in it really resonated with me. I’m paraphrasing here, but I found the idea that we should eat for weight loss (or maintenance) and exercise for health to be very powerful.

MyFitnessPal: I know that it sounds mundane, but counting calories has been the single best thing I’ve done to lose weight. MFP makes it easy! I can enter calories in on either the web site or the iPhone app. Usually, I enter what I plan to eat first thing in the morning and then adjust as the day goes by. It’s been so educational to see just where hidden calories lurk.

Fitbit Flex: I wear a Fitbit Flex pedometer everyday. It automatically syncs with MFP and my daily calorie goal adjusts based on how active I’ve been.

DietBet: My husband and I signed up for a one-month bet to lose 4% of our starting weights in one month time. Our bet was $25 dollars and we both won! Then we immediately signed up for a six-month bet to lose 10% of our starting weights. Month 4 just wrapped up and we’ve won all the monthly bets so far… It has been the most fun way to lose weight! There is something about having an achievable goal and deadline that makes it very motivating.

I love taking pictures and I love editing them! It is so neat to play with how images are processed to achieve different looks and moods. Here are a few of my favourite photo editing tools to use in LightRoom:

VSCO Film: I think I have all the VSCO film packages! I love how their film renditions are so believable and can be adjustedusing the ToolKit that is included.

Pretty Presets Clean and Creative Advanced Workflow: Most of my images start with this simple workflow to take my RAW images from blah to great in just a few clicks.

Bellevue Avenue Filmtastic Life: This is another film package. I’d say this one is a bit more stylized than others. I like how each option has different application strengths to choose from.

Totally Rad RadLab: The RadLab extension is so customizable and I love saving different recipes to use later.
