Spotlight Sunday – Holly Murphy
This week we’re spotlighting one of our fabulous SugarBabes, Holly!
Well hello there Sweet Shoppers. I get to be the lucky babe featured on the blog today. Not sure how much I like this spotlight but I’ll take my 15 minutes of fame and move on 🙂 I have to admit I am kinda a selfie junkie. I love taking them, even though I delete 85% of them. But I use them for scrapbooking so that Kennedy can actually see what mommy looked like in her younger days and so she has an easier time remembering me. And as you can see whenever I take a picture, she has to be in it too, so selfies are never really selfies for me.
Trying to decide on 4 favorite layouts was waaaaayyy to difficult. I have so many that truly do love and call my favorites so to pick 4 was hard.
My first one U Brighten My Day is one of my favorites because of the picture of me and Kennedy and it’s a really bright and fun layout with a white background. I love Cindy’s All In One Words since they are so versatile.
My second one Me…right now is a favorite because it features just me and in a quirky way. I loved the TOTB challenge that it was for because it really pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Next is Motherhood Changes You again made me step out of my comfort zone….a no picture, all journal layout. That’s unheard of from me. I am not a good journaler so when I got it in my head that I wanted to get my thoughts down on paper I wanted to do it in the best way possible. And I really wanted to dig deep and get some scrap therapy out.
Last is 11:13pm I love everything about this page. It features Kennedy just after being born, and features the time she arrived. The layout was for a challenge here at SSD and I am so glad I took it on and did this page.
This was another one that is difficult for me. There are so many AMAZING products in the store that it’s hard to choose just 4! I chose Roar by Shawna Clingerman because the kit is bright and fun and screams Woman Power and most of all it has Zebra print in it. Which is one of my all time favorite things. Then I chose the Little Sew and Sew lines by EZ, you can never go wrong with stitches. They are a great element and most of all versatile. I love Brook Magee’s Family Tree templates. I have become obsessed with our family tree and ancestry so these made my heart happy and scrapbooking it all much easier. Another fav of mine is Lauren Grier’s Disaster Space Water Color brushes….LOVE them. You can never have enough paint splatters on a page. It just adds some fun.
There are 4 things in the life that I absolutely can not live without. Obviously my kid…she grounds me, teaches me patience, pushes me to my limits, drives me crazy but most of all she allows me to see things from a different perspective. She is my greatest accomplishment in life and if I didn’t’ have her I don’t’ know what I’d do. I can’t live without my dslr camera! For starters it’s how I make a living but most of all it allows me to capture the memories that I might later forget about. I have to have my phone with me. When all else fails it has a great camera for those moments the dslr isn’t with me. It also helps me stay connected and somewhat organized. And last but not least chapstick. I’m like a chapstick junkie. I always have a tube of it on me at all times. Some of which have been sacrificed to the pool or dryer.
