SugarBabe Sunday – 7/26

SugarBabeSunday-header-Carrie

We’re adding a fun, new weekly post during this summer! We’re having the SugarBabes hang out with Stacia and I on the blog. They’re going to post whatever they want. That could get pretty surprising, right? ;) Carrie’s talking about one way to be inspired for your scrapbook layouts. I love her pages and to get a glimpse of her “behind the scenes” is a real treat. Thanks Carrie!

Hey, hey Sweet Shoppers!  Carrie here with my SugarBabe Sunday fun for you all.  Today I thought I would share with you how I often get inspiration for my layouts.  I’ve never been a paper scrapper (unless you count the ONE and only time I tried and ended up with a really craptastic Halloween layout…but, that’s a story for a different day…haha!).  I am in awe of the paper scrapping community.  There are some really outstanding scrappers that never cease to amaze me with their talent.  I have a Silhouette Cameo that I purchased a year ago in hopes of dabbling with paper and scissors and glue.  I have yet to open that box.  GASP!!  I’ve decided to show you my most recent lift of a traditional layout so that you can see just how much inspiration you can get and what your end product can look like.

This is the layout that I lifted:

Sunshine & Good Times by Anke Kramer

This is the layout that I created using Sassitude by Meghan Mullens and Amanda Yi

Oh So Sassy by carrie1977

As you can see, it isn’t exactly the same but there are some of the same composition elements to my page.  I love to have a starting off point but then make the layout my own.  It’s very easy to do and you’ll be happy with what you can do to add your own style to your page!  Give it a try sometime….you won’t be sorry you did!
