Thursday Treats – So You Want to Start PL? 1/07
The start of a brand new year often means a new scrapping project. For many people, it’s the time they hop on the PL/Pocket Scrapping bandwagon. As someone that pocket scraps in this way, I love to have people join in. The more the merrier! The Sweet Shoppe community is always so supportive, so eager to help new people get excited and get started.
I thought it might be helpful to share a few essentials, some templates and a few basics that might help build a new PL scrapper’s stash:
My best piece of advice to someone starting is to find a place to write down your stories, those little bits of the day, where you went, the funny things the kids said, what was good, what was bad. Either in a journal or planner, an app on your phone, a diary on your computer, the metadata of your photos, a piece of paper on your desk. However, wherever it works for you. Having those written down and accessible is half “the battle” for keeping up. My second bit of advice is NOT to worry about how other people choose to do their pocket album. There are no rules here, you don’t have to do weekly just because others do it. You don’t have to include lots of embellishments just because others do. This album is for you and your family so make it YOUR STYLE. I guarantee you’ll look back on it in a few years and be glad you took the time to do it!!
Fellow pocket scrappers, chime in! What’s your best piece of advice for someone just starting out with everyday documentation?
