Featured Designer FWP – Amanda Yi

I asked Amanda what inspired her to create True Colors and what her design process was. I also asked her what she thinks her strength as a designer is and what she would consider her “signature” . . . or what others would recognize her for. Here’s what she had to say . . .
I was inspired to design True Colors because I love the movie Trolls and I wanted to try to capture the beauty of the song, True Colors. The movie is so uplifting and cheerful and the colors, omg the colors! Life can get a bit overwhelming so looking on the bright side can be very helpful. My design process included the fun of creating a colorful rainbow palette. Using my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil I drew the fun little Trolls inspired illustrations. Rainbow gradients, glitter accents galore, and fun funky patterned papers are all topped with an assortment of alphabets including a rainbow furry alpha. When I look at this it screams Trolls to me each time!
I believe, since investing in the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil that my strength has become to show through with my unique and fresh drawings. I believe the drawings make my kits unique. With that said, Trolls is now a product that I would consider to be my signature style.
